[St. Sava Temple] is located in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia. It is the largest Orthodox church in the world, covering an area of 1,800 square meters. It ranks among the top ten churches in the world. Designed in the Byzantine style, the main body of the church differs from the traditional Latin cross shape (short horizontal and long vertical) and adopts a Greek cross shape with four sides of basically equal length, 91 meters from east to west and 81 meters from north to south. This makes the church look square, neat, and magnificent from any angle. There are 49 bells in the two bell towers, the largest of which weighs 6 tons. The main dome of St. Sava Temple is covered by a huge bronze dome, 70 meters high. Its scale is second only to the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul, making it the largest in the Balkans. It is one of the most magnificent buildings in Belgrade, symbolizing the cohesion and indomitable spirit of the Serbian nation. The interior of the Orthodox church is decorated with mosaics of various murals, without the sculptures and oil paintings commonly found in Catholic churches. The golden decorations, mosaic reflections, and yellow lights make the entire hall glittering, solemn, and magnificent, with soft and bright light, unlike the dim light in ordinary churches. There is a towering dome in the center of the church, and a huge chandelier hanging in the center, somewhat similar to the Hagia Sophia in Turkey. Standing on the large circle reflected on the ground in the center of the church, it feels like standing at the center of the world. There is a small platform in the center of the entrance to the hall, where believers come in to pray for a few words, although I don't understand what they are saying. There is even Chinese on the main entrance of the church. The underground hall is also spacious and bright, inlaid with mosaic murals, not like the tombs in ordinary churches. This church is the spiritual center of Serbia and holds a high position in the hearts of the people. However, I don't know if there are local regulations on drones, so it's best to inquire in advance. 👍Most recommended: There is a circle in the center of the church hall, directly facing the center of the overhead circular chandelier. Standing there and shooting upwards, you can capture the altar dome and the ground, as if it were the center of the universe, which is very spectacular. ✅Must-try: There is a staircase on the left-hand side of the church entrance that leads down to the basement. The underground hall is also very spacious and magnificent, although the floor is not high. It's worth a look.
