Located in the western suburbs of Beijing, the Summer Palace is the first of its kind in China. It has a total area of about 290 hectares and is composed of Wanshou Mountain and Kunming Lake. The whole park is divided into three areas: the political activity area centered on Renshou Temple; the empress living area with Yushou Hall and Le Shoutang as the main body; and the scenic tourist area composed of Wanshou Mountain and Kunming Lake. The whole park is set against the backdrop of the Xishan Peak, and the combination of the building and the mountain and lake in the park makes the scenery change endless. On December 2, 1998, it was included in the World Heritage List. If you enter from the North Palace Gate and buy a joint ticket, the first attraction is Suzhou Street. Suzhou Street was built in the Qianlong period to imitate the characteristic market of Jiangnan Water Town. The young staff members of the two are all played by the eunuchs. In other words, the eunuchs are playing cosplay to make the masters happy; how lonely the ancient people are, from which they can see the clues. Suzhou Street is a good place to stay, next to the Wanshou Mountain area. Old people in Beijing often say that "you can live to a hundred years when you climb a hundred steps in Wanshou Mountain." It can be seen that climbing Wanshou Mountain is not so easy, so we conclude that Cixi will certainly not climb the mountain in person. There are many scenic spots on Wanshou Mountain, most of which are related to religion; Foxiangge is the theme building of the entire Wanshou Mountain area and one of the masterpieces of ancient Chinese architecture. Foxiangge is the best view point overlooking the entire Kunming Lake; however, the smog has been along the same day, and the entire Kunming Lake looks at the misty sky. However, it is conceivable that the Summer Palace on a sunny day must have a lake and mountains that will make the world fall. The promenade is one of the representative spots of the Summer Palace. In fact, the promenade only needs to take a short walk. When the weather is good, I suggest that you take a cruise on Kunming Lake to the 17th hole, which will save your effort. But on the day we went, because the smog was too heavy, all the boats on the lake were out of service, so we almost went from one end of the corridor to the other.
