Hidden Photo Spots at the Ancient Temple

PRESLEY CAMPBELL
Temple of Heaven

Here’s a quick mini-guide to the Temple of Heaven in Beijing — honestly, this spot is unreal! 😍 Top Spots to Visit: Temple of Heaven (No.1, Tiantan Road, Dongcheng District, Beijing) This iconic complex is absolutely stunning and crazy well-preserved. Wander through the main halls, check out the triple-gabled Circular Mound Altar, and don’t miss the Echo Wall — it’s got trippy acoustics! Bonus: the park around the temples is beautiful and full of locals practicing tai chi and flying kites, so take your time soaking up some chill park vibes. Practical tips: Get there in the earlier part of the day to avoid big crowds and catch some peaceful morning light (the park opens as early as 6:00 AM in summer and 6:30 AM in winter). Don’t rush — the gardens are massive and there’s always something cool happening. Post-temple eats: When you’re done, Qianmen is right nearby and loaded with food choices. Whether you want juicy steamed buns or crunchy Beijing duck, Qianmen’s got your back. Just ask any local for their snack recommendations or follow the aroma! Getting Around: Beijing’s metro is super easy — hop off at Tiantandongmen Station (Line 5) for direct park access. Pay with a transit card for quicker entry and avoid the ticket machine lines. Quick Tips: Bring cash or your phone for e-payments, as some places might not accept international cards. Spring and fall have the best weather for walking the grounds. #BeijingAdventure #TempleOfHeaven #ChinaTravel #TravelTips #tripcom

Juyongguan Great Wall

Breathtaking Vistas at Juyongguan Great Wall 🏞️🧱 Get ready to conquer one of Beijing’s most picturesque and accessible sections of the Great Wall, minus the Badaling or Mutianyu crowds. Enjoy wide-open landscapes, dramatic stonework, and a cool vibe—perfect for a rewarding hike and stunning photos! 🗺️ Recommended Route: Start at the main entrance in Juyongguan Village. Take the loop trail that climbs up the ramparts for sweeping valley views—the climb is steep but relatively short and far easier than tougher sections. Pause often to soak in the scenery and catch your breath! 🌟 Must-do Experiences: - Walk atop the wall’s curved towers for panoramic photo ops - Explore historic fortifications and ancient watchtowers - Relax at scenic vantage points along the loop and enjoy the serene atmosphere 📸 Top Photo Spots: Snap from the stone steps beneath the watchtower for dramatic wall shots snaking through the mountains. Less people means more time to perfect those “solo at the wall” angles. Early mornings or late afternoons provide magical light with minimal crowds. 🔔 Visiting Tips: - Arrive before 9 AM or after 4 PM for the most peaceful experience - Wear sturdy shoes—steps can be uneven but the walk is doable for all ages - Check seasonal hours: Mar 16–Oct 7, 06:30–18:00; Oct 8–Mar 15, 08:30–17:00 ⚠️ Key Precautions: Bring water and sun protection—shade is limited. Steep sections can get slippery, especially after rain, so watch your step. #Beijing #GreatWall #Juyongguan #Hiking #TravelChina

Confucian Temple And Imperial College Museum

This is a dim sum restaurant with a wide variety of delicious dishes in Beijing... Plenty of seating, fast queues, and delicious, clean-tasting food. Moderate prices, easy access, and suitable for all ages. After a meal, you can visit the temple or museum. You can conveniently order food via WeChat. The staff are friendly, even when it's crowded. The restrooms are okay, acceptable. Although they have squatting, they're not bad. No English is spoken in the restaurant, but communication is possible. In short, give it a try; it's good.
