Heishan Temple: A Haunting Memory

The bustling capital, a journey surpassing even the treacherous Shu Road. 🚞**Tired of Yanqi Lake, I spontaneously chose the Huairou–Miyun Line, alighting at the unfamiliar yet alluring Heishan Temple Station. Initially intending a simple hike, I stumbled upon an unexpected delight. 🚶**A ten-minute walk from the station brought me to the Yunlongjian Scenic Area. A twenty-minute cable car ascent, and this southwesterner witnessed a "Shu Road" marvel right here in the capital. The sole viewpoint at the summit offered a captivating panorama of the Miyun Reservoir, enough to leave one spellbound. However, the descent on foot proved to be the day's greatest surprise. Steep mountain paths, gurgling streams, fallen rocks, and cliffs – nature's splendor unfolded before my eyes. The three-hour trek down felt like a fleeting moment. A gentle breeze swept through the valley, and I lay on a rocky ledge, listening to the murmuring water, feeling like I was in a forest, far from the city's clamor.
