After more than a thousand years of changes, Shangfang Mountain has gradually become a well-known Buddhist mountain in the southwest of Beijing and is regarded as a sacred place. There are currently 72 temples and ruins in the park, the most famous of which is the Doulv Temple of the Sui Dynasty. ✔Yao Guangxiao, a politician, Buddhist scholar, and writer of the Ming Dynasty, assisted Zhu Di in moving the capital to Beijing and planned the layout of Beijing. After Zhu Di became emperor, what he thought of was not to fight for merit and invite pets, but to go back to the Buddha Hall to complete his practice career. So Zhu Di made him the biggest monk, and gave him the ancient Xiangguang Temple in Dahanji, Fangshan as a villa. At this time, Yao Guangxiao saw that Nanhua Yanlin was quiet and next to Shangfang Mountain, and he rebuilt this temple as a hermit. Nanhua Yan became the first temple to restore incense among many Huayan temples in the Ming Dynasty. ✔The architectural decoration style of Shenshui Lianting is naturally influenced by Buddhist culture. In many spaces, you can see the embodiment of Buddhist culture: the statue of Guanyin, the curtain of the statue of Sakyamuni, the lotus-shaped incense burner, etc. There are also some naturally formed in the mountains, such as Ganoderma-shaped wooden stakes, stones, etc.
