China International Craft Innovation Expo, a modern expression of traditional crafts.

The China International Craft Innovation Expo originated from the French International Craft Innovation Biennale and is an important part of Beijing International Design Week. The first China International Craft Innovation Expo was held at the National Agricultural Exhibition Hall. The Expo brings together 126 exhibiting artists and more than 550 works of art from 16 countries including China, France, the United Arab Emirates, Spain, Switzerland, and Morocco, covering a variety of craft fields such as bamboo, ceramics, lacquer, metal, and fiber. The Expo has set up a "Yanjing Eight Jue" art boutique exhibition area, and the unique charm of many intangible cultural heritages is displayed. In addition, many exhibited works also reflect the characteristics of different ethnic groups. A carved lacquer redwood furniture Fushou Tianqi Luohan bed looks familiar, and it turns out to be from Ma Ning and Xie Yong. Teacher Ma Ning is the inheritor of Beijing carved lacquer art and Beijing carved lacquer art. I visited Teacher Xie Yong's studio in Shunyi last month and learned a lot about the production process of traditional furniture. Many Chinese and foreign exhibits are bold overlays of tradition and modernity. The openness of the West and the introversion of the East collide and blend cleverly together.
