| Beijing Yuecai JW Marriott. Yuecai JW Marriott is relatively newer among the Marriott hotels in Beijing (note: in Beijing). It is conveniently close to the South Station, and I also wanted to visit the nearby Temple of Heaven Park and Taoranting Park. Checked in at noon and was assigned a corner room. The front desk and welcoming staff were sufficient, and the check-in process was smooth. Location Located between Xuanwumen and Caishikou, there is a shopping mall nearby, and it is close to attractions within the Second Ring Road. Highly recommend visiting the nearby Taoranting and Temple of Heaven in the summer evenings; ticket checks usually stop around nine o'clock. Room and Service Apart from the relatively new bathroom, the rest is somewhat old, which is a common issue with other Marriott hotels in Beijing. The corner room is quite spacious, offering distant views of the Forbidden City, Jingshan, and CBD, but the nearby construction sites are a bit of an eyesore. The quality of slippers and bathrobes is good, with welcome fruits and turndown service. They proactively and promptly clean up the trash, and the room service response is quick. Pool and Gym: The pool environment is great. Although there is no high-altitude view, it is quiet with few people, equipped with a hot tub and sauna room. The gym has a nice view, overlooking the old hutongs of Beijing, which is quite unique. The pool and gym are my personal favorite parts. Executive Lounge: The lounge is standard. The variety of afternoon tea desserts is limited, but the croissant sandwiches are a plus. HH hot food is average, but there are many more desserts than during afternoon tea, and they taste good. Breakfast The egg and noodle stations are good, the fruits are very fresh, and the pancakes are also nice. Overall, in this level of hotel in Beijing, the cost performance is relatively high, and its proximity to the South Station is also friendly to business travelers.
