A morning at Citywalk Sanlihe Park near Qianmen

The Sanlihe Park near Qianmen is the result of the renovation of Beijing's old hutongs. Historical records indicate that there used to be a small river in this area that led directly to the moat. The surroundings included guild halls, inns, shops, etc., serving as a place for scholars coming to the capital for exams and for merchants to stay. Later, the river became blocked, and the area turned into a complex of large courtyards and small alleys. Today's Sanlihe Park is a great leisure spot in the city center. It is still inhabited by locals, and some of the large gray-walled and gray-tiled courtyards have been transformed into guild halls. After the rain, the morning is rich with greenery, the air is fresh, and the wet wooden walkways and stone paths, the winding river, and the ducks and black swans playing in the water create a picturesque scene. The old neighbors walk around, exercise, walk their dogs, and live their ordinary lives. At the corner of the river, there is a residential courtyard full of life, with roosters crowing and hens walking around at your feet, and bottles and jars on the windowsills. The small wooden houses by the water in Sanlihe Park are mini libraries, and there are also two cafes and tea rooms that are bustling during the day and night, attracting many locals and tourists.
