🎭See the National Theatre 🇨🇳🎶 in Beijing!

#christmastrip For Christmas, our workplace took us to see a show at the National Center for Performing Arts in Beijing! 🎭🇨🇳 Located right near Tiananmen in the heart of Beijing, the Theatre is almost like an upside-down skyscraper: for airspace purposes, the structure couldn’t be tall. So they built it downward, into the ground! 😱⬇️ Winding escalators take you through the building’s many levels, with theater halls and art exhibitions placed generously throughout. There were even some fast food restaurants! 🍟🖼️ Our workplace took us to see a Beijing Opera show, which is very different from opera as we know it in the West. The performances were intriguing and fun to watch! 🎤🎶🎎 I consider the National Center for Performing Arts to be one of Beijing’s modern wonders. The architecture and furnishings are breathtaking and massive.
