A township government building from the 70s and 80s has been transformed into a manor castle, becoming a hotspot for competitive photography

In the dry-hot valley of Lüjiangba at the foot of Gaoligong Mountain in Baoshan, Yunnan, there is a village called "Xinzhai". It is the village with the largest area of small-grain coffee cultivation in China. Along the roads of the village, the originally bare walls seem to have been 'enchanted', covered with creative spray paintings themed around coffee; the old, unused village committee building has been turned into a European-style 'castle' coffee estate. Coffee shops, coffee factories, coffee museums... Here, the mountains are covered with coffee trees. The courtyards are filled with drying coffee beans, the village is permeated with the aroma of coffee, and the coffee farmers no longer 'just grow without drinking' as in the past. Instead, they put down their hoes, pick up coffee cups, and become coffee connoisseurs, with coffee deeply integrated into the lives of Xinzhai villagers. At the foot of Gaoligong Mountain, tens of thousands of acres of coffee trees are lush and the coffee flowers bloom. When the blooming season arrives, the coffee farmers of Xinzhai village start to get busy with weeding, fertilizing, pruning, and forking for the coffee trees... Yunnan's small-grain coffee has a planting history of over 70 years, and its original production area is precisely Xinzhai Village. Xinzhai Village features a 'three-dimensional climate' combining high mountains, flat plains, and river valleys, with a unique dry-hot valley climate that is rare in the country. The soil here is fertile, with abundant sunshine, large temperature differences at night, and basically no frost throughout the year; moderate humidity and rainfall. The coffee produced here has uniform and full grains, a fresh smell, a rich aroma, strong but not bitter, fragrant but not intense, and with a slight fruity taste, ranking alongside the world-famous 'Blue Mountain coffee'. 'Xinzhai Coffee Estate', also known as 'Ephraim Estate', was transformed from an old, abandoned township government compound. The walls, made of red bricks and cement, exude the mysterious feel of a European castle. It is said that this coffee estate was built with 760,000 bricks over four years. The arched blank windows frame the beautiful scenery of Gaoligong Mountain. In the spacious estate, there is a piano with live performances, the ethereal and elegant piano sounds linger, and sitting here with a cup of coffee, the ancient banyan trees sway in the wind, watching the distant mountains gradually fade, like an ink painting... Life sometimes needs some meaningless things to recharge oneself, doesn't it?
