Catholic church by the river in Bangkok

#Thailand Attractions Although Thailand is a Buddhist country, its citizens can still have other faiths. Assumption Cathedral is a Roman Catholic church belonging to the Catholic Archdiocese of Bangkok. It was completed in 1821 and took over a decade, when the original materials were imported from France and Italy. The location is about 100 meters from the Mandarin Oriental hotel and the French Consulate. The building we see now was partially renovated in the 80s and 90s, as it had been severely damaged during World War II. Local friends say that this place is very famous and many people like to come to hold weddings.
