Just meet, experience, and be bright🧡🌿

#InsomniaInExhibition "Merely Encountering the Evident – เพิ่น ประ เฉมกราคม" is an exhibition that asks us to reconsider what we see through our eyes and what we feel through our hearts: what is "truth" and whether we understand it from our own experiences or from the stories of others. By artists Kanokwan Sutthang, Busapasila Wanjing and Suthiphong Sutsang, curated by Thiti Thirawawit This exhibition explores "photography" not as something that can be seen, but as objects, memories, and evidence of existence, both present and hidden in deep meaning. Starting with photographs, the three artists use a cross-media artistic process to question the past, personal beliefs, and the relationship between humans and nature, opening new conversations for viewers in the present era. Busapasila Wanjing presents a mixed media that includes video, models, and staging processes, exploring old photographs from the North during the Cold War, connecting them with local legends, conspiracy theories, and ancient murals. Her work demonstrates that historical memory does not die with the past, but rather continues to impact and be reinterpreted in the present context. While Suthiphong Sutsangk presents local beliefs such as “Phi Bun”, a legend of the uprising in the Northeast, through video installations, photographs, and local objects such as gravel and stones, his work revives and questions the once-powerful faith before it was suppressed by the state and gradually faded from collective memory. Lastly, Kanokwan Sutthang creates works that reflect the relationship between nature and humans, using “Mai Yarap” as a representative of fragile beauty, through photographs, installations, ceramics, and books that record the movement of Mai Yarap. Although the three artists have different methods and content, their use of photography is what connects their works. We feel like we are exploring hidden histories, feelings embedded in nature, and the faith that nurtured people’s lives in the past, through the lens of the present. Every piece of work is a question, and every angle is a conversation between us and the world we think of as “Know it well” 🗓 Now on display - April 27, 2025 📍Exhibition location: HOP PHOTO GALLERY (HOP Hub Of Photography), 2nd floor MMAD, Man Man Srinakarin ⏰️ Open daily from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. 💵 Free admission #HOPHubOfPhotography #HOPCLUB #MerelyEncounteringtheEvident #MMAD #trip #ExhibitionReview #GetDiscountsWithoutLuck
