A source for learning about the history of national development.. of Thailand. The original home of Maha Amat Ek Phraya Suriyanuwat (Kerd Bunnag), who was historically important in many ways related to the development of Thailand. It is now the office of the National Economic and Social Development Board (NESDB). The museum has organized exhibition content into 7 zones as follows: 🌿First Light: When Siam began to adapt to the modern economic system after the Bowring Treaty, at that time Siam still lacked modern economic thinkers. More than 50 years later, Siam had its first economics textbook, "Traphayasat" by Phraya Suriyanuwat. That was the "first light" of modern economics in Thailand. 🌿First Light: When the world economy changed again after World War II, Thailand needed a "top-notch" organization. 1950 was the year that "First Light" became the National Economic Council before becoming the National Economic and Social Development Board today. 🌿Guiding Light: The important role of the NESDB is to lay the foundation for national development, developing infrastructure to lay the foundation for economic and social development. And design a new vision for the future to be the most suitable "guiding light" for the country. In the past, Thailand has implemented 12 national economic and social development plans. 🌿Light in the dark world: Economic and social crises in Thailand over the past decades, since the establishment of the National Economic and Social Development Board until now, the National Economic and Social Development Board has played a role in helping to resolve the situation to pass well by adjusting the plan and determining the development guidelines to be in line with the situation. It shows that every crisis always requires a "guiding light" to overcome the darkness. 🌿Light from the sky: 1997 was one of the most difficult years for Thai people. The Thai economy fell into the darkest abyss. The whole world called it "Tom Yum Kung". At that time, Thai people relied on "light from the sky" by adopting the philosophy of the sufficiency economy of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great as a guideline for living.
