#InsomniaInExhibition Bangkok Art Biennale 2024 - Bangkok Art Biennale or BAB is an international contemporary art festival that is held every two years. This year, the theme is "Nurture Gaia", conveying different meanings of nature, nurturing, femininity, and contemplating ecology, politics, or supernatural powers to reflect on the current situation, stimulate thought, and find new ways to deal with future issues in terms of society and the environment. #Insomnia invites everyone to see the works in the exhibition section at the National Gallery (Chao Fah Road) from Thai and international artists, totaling more than 54 works, with works that Insomnia likes and wants to tell others about, such as 1. Agnes Arellano The work Project Pleiades presents images of four goddesses in a dark atmosphere with music and a diagram of the universe. Translating the complexities and strengths of goddesses from different cultures, reflecting the supreme femininity and the unity of the universe through mythology, religion, and archaeology. 2. Aideen Barry (ᖃᐅᔨᒪᔭᐅᔪᓐᓃᖅᑐᑦ / Seachmalltacht / Oblivion) ​​presents multimedia art that combines folk music, Inuit throat singing, Irish harp, and electronics, conveying the darkness of Irish legends and the toxic land crisis, reflecting the effort to preserve the identity of Irish musical culture. 3. Lêna Bùi (Lena Bui) (Precious. Rare. For Sale) explores the relationship between humans and nature through Vietnamese films from the 1990s, compared to modern images that reflect the destruction of the environment and ecosystems, such as the climate crisis in the Mekong Delta. At the same time, using natural paintings to convey the lost balance. 4. Guerreiro do Divino Amor (Guerreiro do Divino Amor) by Roma Talismano presents a video installation that compares symbols of Roman power such as the she-wolf, the eagle, and the ram, conveying the connection between historical greatness and the understanding of nature through a science fiction universe that blends fragments of reality. 5. Chitra Ganesh (Chitra Ganesh) by She the Question: Head in Flames is a work inspired by comics, mythology, and science fiction, with a female character at the center questioning religious beliefs, gender, and power, reflecting the conflicts and struggles of humanity today. 6. Mella Jaarsma (Mella Jaarsma) by Barkcloth-Dark Cloth, an installation and sculpture using bark cloth reflecting the conflict between primitiveness and commodification. Questioning the erasure of Papuan indigenous culture under the influence of colonialism and the Indonesian nationalist government 7.
