Hong Thong Temple, a chapel in the middle of the sea, beautiful view @ Chachoengsao

Wat Hong Thong or Wat Klang Nam is located in Bang Pakong District, Chachoengsao Province, in a mangrove forest area along the coast. There is a walkway connecting the temple grounds on the coast to Phra That Kongkha Maha Chedi Pricha Prabhakar and the Ubosot in the sea. The chedi has 5 floors with paintings related to Buddhism. The top floor is a golden chedi containing the relics of the Arahants. You can see the sea view. In the middle of the walkway of Wat Hong Thong, there are statues of Phra Aphai Mani, a yakkha, Phra Aphai, and many other characters from literature. There is a wooden bridge around it so you can enjoy the view. Inside the “Phra That Kongkha Maha Chedi” on the ground floor, there is a replica of Luang Pho Phutthasothon and many other Buddha images. When you go up to the 2nd floor of the building, you will find a wax figure resembling the lifelike image of Luang Pu Sod or Phra Mongkolthepmuni (Sod Chanthasaro) of Wat Pak Nam Phasi Charoen.
