Athens One-Day Tour Route｜Acropolis Hiking, Sunset, Seafood, and Yogurt

After staying in Athens for a month, I finally figured out this one-day tour route: 1️⃣Monastiraki Start from the hotel in the morning and head to this metro station. It’s considered the very center of Athens, where Metro Line 1 and Line 3 intersect. When you exit the station and look south, you can see the Acropolis. There are many souvenir shops nearby to browse. Then head towards 2️⃣. 2️⃣This area is full of small alleys, as shown in photo 2. There are many restaurants, such as Ristorante Atlantikos, a seafood place with long lines, which I’ve mentioned in previous posts. There are also many brunch spots, cafes, and accessory shops. You can stroll around and pick any place to eat. There’s also a spicy hot pot & milk tea shop called Jiacha here, which is quite tasty and affordable. If you’re craving Chinese food, give it a try! After exploring here, you can walk to Thiseio metro station, then follow 3️⃣ this road all the way up. 3️⃣You’ll pass by the flea market, shown in photo 4, with many stalls selling handmade crafts. When you reach the intersection near the café Athinaion Politeia, look to your left to see the Acropolis hill and the city buildings in the distance—a beautiful view! See photo 5. Keep walking up and you’ll find a yogurt shop called Fresko Yogurt Bar, where you can add different jams and nuts. I ordered the blackberry flavor, which was delicious! See photo 6. Keep walking up a bit more and you’ll reach the foot of the Acropolis. If you have time, you can choose 4️⃣ to visit the Acropolis. See photos 7-8. If it’s close to evening, you can follow 5️⃣ this path to Philopappos Hill, a small hill to watch the sunset. After watching the sunset, take bus 230 back to Syntagma Square. A perfect day!
