Astana

Astana Kazakhstan is the largest landlocked country in the world, Plains, deserts, rivers, lakes, snow-capped mountains, canyons... Diverse landforms create diverse landscapes here, All seasons can bring new charm. 1. Astana means "capital" in Kazakh. It is also one of the youngest capitals in the world. 2. Astana was originally named "Akmola" and was once an important stop on the ancient Silk Road. 3. Astana is the second coldest capital in the world, with a lowest temperature of minus 40 degrees Celsius. This capital, which started almost from scratch, has become a stage for a group of world-class architects to showcase their talents and compete silently. A large number of futuristic buildings with various styles and unique shapes have emerged one after another, embodying high-tech and avant-garde creativity that is eye-opening. The whole city can be regarded as a city full of imagination and concepts. "The Khan Shatyr" also known as "The Tent of the Khan", is one of the iconic buildings in Astana, claiming to be the largest tent in the world. Its inspiration comes from the yurts, the traditional homes of the Kazakh nomads. "The Khan's Tent" is a leisure center that integrates shopping, dining, and entertainment. The ethnic-style exterior design, international-standard interior decoration, and advanced temperature-controlled building materials make this building light and airy, bridging the gap between ancient and modern. Inside the tent, there is a huge shopping center, a food court, and a lot of amusement facilities. There is even a tropical beach on the top floor - swimming pool, beach, palm trees - you will forget that you are in the heart of Eurasia far from the ocean. Even in the cold winter of minus thirty degrees, it maintains a summer temperature inside.

Republic Kazakhstan/Astana city Grand Mosque

A Spiritual Spectacle at Astana Grand Mosque 🕌✨ Step into the heart of Nur-Sultan and be swept away by the awe-inspiring grandeur of the Astana Grand Mosque! This stunning landmark isn’t just a place of worship—it’s a showcase of modern Central Asian architecture, vibrant youth energy, and picture-perfect moments. 🧭 Recommended Route: Start by approaching the mosque via the main plaza for the most dramatic first impression—especially near sunset when the white marble glows warmly. Then wander the peaceful gardens and fountains that surround the mosque before heading inside. 🌟 Must-do Experiences: Tour the main prayer hall with its ornate blue-gold décor and soaring domes. Pause for a quiet moment of reflection, whether or not you’re religious—everyone’s welcome here. In the evening, the mosque’s illuminated façade is an unforgettable sight. 📸 Insta-worthy Photo Spots: Capture the mosque’s full silhouette from the outer gardens for a classic shot or snap the shimmering mosaics by the front entrance. Inside, the interplay of sunlight through stained glass windows makes for ethereal photos—especially midday. 🚩 Visiting Tips: Open year-round, all day (3CC5+XV, Astana 020000, Kazakhstan). Dress modestly—cover shoulders and knees; bring a scarf to cover your hair if needed. Mornings are generally quieter, and the weather is often gloriously clear from spring through fall. Take advantage of the friendly vibe—locals love sharing their city’s pride! ⚠️ Precautions: Avoid visiting during midday prayers if you want full access to explore inside. Photography is welcome, but be mindful around worshippers and signs indicating no photos. #Astana #Kazakhstan #GrandMosque #CentralAsia #CityHighlights

Reikartz Park Astana ex-Royal Park Hotel & Spa

Astana’s got style — skyscrapers, futuristic vibes, and some hidden gems 🌃✨ If you’re short on time, here’s how I squeezed the best out of two days! Must-See Places: Baiterek — a city icon you can’t skip! Located at 4CHJ+86C, Astana 01000. Open nearly all day (10:00-22:00, with short midday breaks). Tip: Go up to the observation deck and actually put your hand on the golden imprint. It’s said to bring good luck, plus you get a 360° city panorama. Atyrau Bridge — especially stunning in the evening, when lights reflecting off the Ishim River set the mood. Perfect for photos or a chill stroll. Stay at Reikartz Park Astana ex-Royal Park Hotel & Spa — Kerey and Zhanibek Khans St 18. Central, super convenient for hitting all the main sights. The friendly multilingual staff made everything easy (Chinese or English if you need), rooms are large and quiet, and breakfasts really hit the spot before a busy day. Top Astana Tips: Revisit spots at night for a serious glow-up—especially Baiterek and the bridge. Transport: Yandex Go taxi app is reliable and affordable; otherwise, the city’s buses are simple to hop on.On buses, you can ask someone to pay with a Caspi card or give it in cash. The fare is 110 tenge. Just be careful, do not ask schoolchildren to do this, otherwise your fare will cost zero rubles and it says schoolboy) Be sure to take a QR picture on your phone, once they asked, there are controllers on the buses. Money: Cash or card Kaspi. Weather: Layers! Winds blow strong and temps change fast. Food recs: Venture to nearby cafes—try Kazakh beshbarmak or the city’s pastry shops. Breakfast at the hotel is hearty, so don’t skip it! #AstanaTrip #KazakhstanVibes #TravelHacks #CityIcons
