Fukuoka 🇯🇵 Akizuki Castle Ruins

In 1623 (Genwa 9), according to the will of Lord Nagamasa Kuroda, the lord of Fukuoka Domain, 50,000 koku was given to his third son Nagaoki, and the Akizuki Domain was established. The place where Changxing lived when he built the city the following year was Qiuyue City. It is a small castle in the form of a Jinya, and the castle is divided into the Omote-Goden (official hall) where Akizuki Junior High School is located and the Oku-Goden (the living place of the feudal lord). Today, the Kuromon has been moved to the main entrance of the Tsurugi Shrine, which is dedicated to Nagaoki. In the past, it was built as a large gate deep in the Kawashikawa area. The "Nagaya Gate" that served as a general door is the only historical site built in its original location. The Sugimotobaba Street leading to the castle ruins becomes a beautiful cherry blossom tunnel in spring and is a popular spot.
