Aspendos Ruins and Theatre - Antalya, Turkey

Must visit if you are in Antalya region! I was very impressed by this historical place. Aspendos is famous for its best-preserved ancient theater which was built in 155. It is also one of the largest theater ever built by the Romans in Asia. The theater has a capacity of 12.000 people and is still used today for performances and festivals. The theater is absolutely beautiful! If you have more time, I suggest you to also explore the rest of the site, including the stadium and the ruins at the top of the hill, some of which are absolutely enormous in size! From the top of the hill, you also have a great view of the entire theatre in the surrounding landscape. The ancient city of Aspendos is approximately 50 km east of Antalya. #historicplaces
