Travel Notes on Kemal's Mausoleum｜The Spiritual Hall of the Father of Türkiye

During his reign, he promoted a series of modernization reforms and made great contributions to the foundation of modern Turkey. To commemorate his great achievements, Turkey built the majestic Kemal Mausoleum in 1953. This building combines the style of the ancient Hittite Temple with modern construction technology. It not only symbolizes spiritual inheritance, but also demonstrates Turkey's outstanding architectural level. The mausoleum complex includes a memorial park, a square, the main mausoleum, two towers, and a museum displaying Kemal's relics. Standing on the Memorial Square, you can also overlook the beautiful scenery of Ankara city. I happened to catch the Changing of the Guard ceremony, which was solemn and ceremonial, and very impressive. Although the color tone of the mausoleum is simple, it is matched with delicate Turkish patterns to form a unique aesthetic style, full of artistic sense. I like it very much! The main building is a solemn space and you must remain quiet when visiting because many people are mourning and remembering this great man. The garden outside the mausoleum is of a completely different style. It is open and lively, making it a great place for taking photos and strolling. But I couldn't help but take a few more photos of the building itself - it was so spectacular. Due to limited time, we were unable to queue up to enter the museum. It was said that the waiting time would be more than 30 minutes. This time we could only admire the coffin preservation area from the outside. However, if you have enough time, I would recommend setting aside at least three hours so that you can not only visit the internal exhibitions, but also leisurely walk around the entire park and gardens.
