Its situated outside Mattan, a small town away from Anantnag. The temple was destroyed beyond recovery by invaders and a little effort is done by the government which is pathetic and shoddy. The official guides also render all lies about the cause of destruction. Even now one can see the erstwhile glory through the mammoth structures existing now. It leaves one with a sense of satisfaction of visiting, as well as a great sense of pathetic loss of great culture and heritage.
