Amazing Experience | Altay Region - Koktokay Ski Resort in Xinjiang Altay

I spent an unforgettable skiing trip at Koktokay, totaling three days. During this time, I conquered several skiing spots including the Gem Trail, Little Forest, Drainage Channel, U-shaped Trail, and Little White Slope, each offering me the ultimate skiing experience. Transportation and Location I set off from Altay, driving to the Koktokay Ski Resort. Departing at 8 am, I arrived at my destination after 1 pm. Due to the heavy snowfall in the area, I strongly recommend renting a four-wheel drive with snow tires. The Tank 300 four-wheel drive I chose performed exceptionally well, accommodating two female passengers in the back row even with four people plus equipment and one seat folded down. Additionally, the Great Wall series of vehicles also have excellent loading capacity. Accommodation Recommendation In Koktokay town, I chose to stay at the Snowfield Koktokay Hotel. The price is affordable, only 200 yuan per night. The hotel is conveniently located near transportation, with a shuttle bus to and from the ski resort that is very convenient, costing a total of 50 yuan, and the one-way trip takes about 40 minutes. Gastronomic Journey Aside from skiing, I also tasted the local cuisine. There are several restaurants on the second floor of the ski equipment hall next to the 2500-meter cable car. Although I never had a full meal at the ski resort, I would have an energy drink every noon to replenish my strength. When hungry, I would try a corn cob or grilled sausage near the cable car. After the day's skiing, I would go to the local restaurants near the hotel to taste the local cuisine. There are many restaurants with a rich variety of dishes, especially the iron pot stew series. The Charm of the Ski Resort Koktokay Ski Resort has three cable car points, located at 1900 meters, 2500 meters, and the 3100-meter parking lot and bus stop at 1900 meters. The red cable car, which I took most often, reaches the highest point at 3100 meters with two transfers. From there, I would challenge the 6-kilometer-long ski run. The beauty of Koktokay is intoxicating, surrounded by rolling snow-capped mountains, with gentle slopes and spaciousness.
