Watch the sunset in the evening at Cacilhas

#dreamdestination Cacilhas – is a province on the southern bank of the Tagus River, which is opposite the city of Lisbon. This place has the charm of being a quiet suburban area. You can see authentic Portuguese-style houses, walk along the river from the port along the old warehouses, and look back to see the view of Lisbon and the Ponte 25 de Abril bridge with the Tagus River as the foreground. In addition, the seafood of the restaurants on this side is famous for its quality and more affordable prices than in Lisbon. After reviewing the information, we decided to spend the evening walking, watching the sunset and having dinner here. ⛴ Travel The easiest and most enjoyable way to travel is to take a ferry from the Cais do Sodré port on the Lisbon side to Cacilhas port. The journey takes about 10-15 minutes. There are boats every 7-15 minutes (depending on the time). You can also see beautiful views on both sides of the river without having to buy an expensive ferry tour. Very good value ✅ Attractions For the interesting tourist attractions on the Cacilhas side, there are the following: • Cristo Rei Monument (National Sanctuary of Christ the King) – This is considered the top attraction on this side. It is actually in the Almada area, but Cacilhas is the starting point for taking bus number 101 to Cristo Rei. Some people use the method of walking along the riverbank from the Cacilhas port to take the Boca do Vento Elevator. However, the latter is suitable for people who have a lot of time and plenty of leg power. • Rua Cândido dos Reis – This is the main street with restaurants and pubs on both sides. The atmosphere looks more local than the Lisbon side. The buildings on this street, although old, are colorful and charming without being artificial. • Igreja de Nossa Senhora do Bom Sucesso – If anyone goes during the day, this small blue church should stop by to visit. But we went in the evening, the church was already closed, so we missed it. But judging from the pictures in the media, the magnificence of the church's interior is not as good as the big churches on the Lisbon side (which is not surprising). For tourists with limited time like us, we felt that we should spend the day visiting beautiful churches and important places in Lisbon first, and then come here in the evening. It would be more worthwhile to visit this church. • Fernando II Gloria - The last Portuguese warship that sailed between Portugal and India. It is now open for visitors. If you have time and are interested, you should stop by. • Rua do Ginjal is a riverside street lined with old warehouses. Although these warehouses look dilapidated, they look real and magical. There is also street art on the walls here and there, which is another kind of cool. This street is paved and smooth, so you can walk and enjoy the breeze and the view along the river. When you are tired, you can sit and relax by the river without any fences. You can walk all the way to Ponto Final - a small restaurant with outdoor seating and a beautiful view that is popularly recommended by Lonely Planet. It is a great place to watch the sunset. Turn left to see Ponte 25 de Abril Bridge, turn right to see the old town of Lisbon bathed in the last light of the day, very romantic. For those who have a lot of time to travel, it would be interesting to take some time to visit various tourist attractions on the Cacilhas side. For those who have limited time, just stop by in the evening, enjoy the city and walk along the riverbank, find delicious seafood, and soak up the local atmosphere - it is a different charm from the big city of Lisbon.
