[Fukushima] A 140-year-old open-air bath with a spectacular view, a Noh stage, and delicious freshly pounded rice cakes in the morning!

📍 Shosuke no Yado Taki no Yu Address: 108 Higashiyama Onsen, Aizuwakamatsu City, Fukushima Prefecture Upon arrival, you will be greeted with matcha and yokan in the lobby overlooking the Noh stage Women can choose their favorite yukata with obi. All guest rooms face the Yukawa Valley, and the seasonal nature and babbling of the river will soothe your soul. At the Noh stage, you can see projection mapping from 9pm, and on the newly renovated floor, there is a "local sake exhibition gallery" where you can sample Aizu local sake and relax while reading magazines. This hot spring inn was founded 1300 years ago at the birthplace of Aizu Higashiyama Onsen, and has been in business for over 140 years This is the hot spring that Shosuke Obara, famous for the song "Why did you ruin your life?", continued to visit. The actual stone bath he used was also on display. While bathing in the open-air bath, you can see the magnificent waterfall up close, and just watching it makes you feel refreshed. There are six other private baths, and I booked a plan that includes the popular "Hoshizora no Yu" on the top floor. You can see the mountain stream and greenery from the foot bath in front of the large bath, and there is also a foot bath where you can see the Noh stage. After the bath, there are free services such as beer 🍺 and soft-serve ice cream, so you can eat and drink while soaking your feet in the foot bath. We went to the venue for both breakfast and dinner. The Hanafuda card clips were very stylish so that you don't get the wrong slippers. For dinner, we had a variety of dishes that were made with a focus on local produce, allowing you to taste the local flavors of Aizu. The salt-grilled sweetfish was excellent 🥰. It was the first time I'd seen Aizu Kozuyu, which came with rice. The refreshing soup with lots of ingredients was delicious. The breakfast is served on a tray with lots of side dishes, and you'll want seconds. The morning service is freshly pounded rice cakes, and you can choose toppings such as zunda, walnuts, red bean paste, natto, and kinako. Both the walnuts and zunda were incredibly delicious. Because it was raining, we weren't able to fully enjoy the private hot spring, but the water quality was good, and there were various services available. It's a hot spring I'd like to visit again. #AccommodationTrip #HotSpring #Fukushima #HigashiyamaOnsen #OpenAirBath #NohStage #RiceCake
