Exquisite Stay at Sheraton Addis

The Sheraton Addis proved to be an outstanding hotel. It is perched on a gentle slope offering views of parts of Addis. The approach to the hotel from the side is truly impressive. The hotel's quality and ambiance surpassed my expectations. Addis and Ethiopia feature nice areas but also have their rough patches. The Sheraton ensures you'll feel well cared for during your visit. The doormen outside and reception staff were consistently helpful. Every dining venue we tried was excellent. The food and drinks, whether coffee or wine, were exceptional. Our favorite spot was the Stagioni Italian Restaurant, where we enjoyed dinner with a scenic view overlooking Addis Ababa's illuminated skyline. We sampled the local Ethiopian wine, Castel Rift Valley, Cabernet Sauvignon, which we found delightful and more affordable compared to French or South African imports. We also enjoyed drinks and snacks before exploring the city at the Fountain Court bar in the lounge. Although we booked tours in advance, we likely could have arranged them at the Sheraton. We felt safe and encountered no issues with noise or crowds. On Saturday night, it was popular with lively groups of locals enjoying the hotel's charm.
