🇨🇳 Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province, China 💚 Little Forest Hostel 小森林环保旅舍 During my 2-day trip to Shaoxing in Zhejiang Province, China, I stayed at the Little Forest Hostel 小森林环保旅舍. It was an excellent choice with great value for money, comfortable facilities, and friendly staff. If I visit Shaoxing again, I will definitely stay here again. I booked Little Forest Hostel 小森林环保旅舍 through Trip.com, and the price for a bed in a 6-person female dormitory was 14,500 KRW per night. However, I used my saved Trip Coins to pay, so I stayed for free, which made me very happy. Despite the low price, the facilities exceeded my expectations. In fact, they were much better than some European hostels where I paid 60-80 euros per night for a 12-person dormitory. I was assigned a lower bunk in the 6-person female dormitory, and on the day I stayed, there were only three guests in total, making it relatively quiet and comfortable. Each room is equipped with a bathroom, shower, personal lockers, and indoor slippers. Additionally, on the second-floor hallway, there is a locker with free amenities available for use. The price is incredibly affordable, and they even provide Chinese-style soy milk (豆浆) and bread for breakfast! With such services and facilities at a price of around 10,000 KRW, the value for money is unbelievable. Moreover, the first floor of the hostel is a bookstore, giving off a literary vibe. Although I didn’t read any books, I felt smarter just being there. On the second and third floors, you can look out the windows to see lush green trees, which is truly relaxing. It made me realize why this hostel is named "Little Forest." If I visit Shaoxing again, I will definitely stay at this hostel. I recently visited Wangxiangu in Jiangxi over the weekend and have some practical advice to share. Is it worth visiting? I personally think it is, but timing is crucial! During the day, it might seem ordinary, but once the lights are on at night, it's truly stunning. I recommend arriving around 5 PM to catch both the sunset and the night view. The blue hour (half an hour after sunset) is particularly beautiful with a blue sky. The night view is also impressive, with bonfire performances and other shows adding to the lively atmosphere. Be sure to bring a fan as the entire area is outdoors with no air conditioning. It can get very hot, especially in summer with many tourists. Even on a cloudy day, I sweated a lot. Check the weather in advance, and if it's sunny, bring an umbrella, sunscreen, and a hat as it can be both hot and sunny. Also, bring filling snacks and refreshing drinks. There are many dining options in the area, but most lack air conditioning, making it very hot. Only a few restaurants have air conditioning, and they might be booked by tour groups during summer, leaving no seats. You might want to bring your own food to have a quick bite when hungry. For photography, the best spots are Baige Bridge and Baihe Cliff. The blue hour is the best time for photos. If you have a drone, bring it along as some popular angles can only be captured with one. Regarding accommodation, staying in the area depends on your budget. If you have a higher budget, staying at a hotel is convenient and allows you to see the sunrise the next day. If not, staying outside is fine as the night view is the main attraction. If you have time and want to enjoy water activities, try the rafting. The route is long with significant drops and fast currents, making it thrilling. Remember to bring quick-dry clothes, water shoes, goggles, a waterproof phone bag, and a disposable towel. This year we celebrated Lunar New Year in Longguan township. Longguan is located about an hour outside Ningbo. We spent the day at the Longguan tea house and hotel. We took a paper cutting class, made rice cakes and had a fantastic feast. My son tried on some hanfu from the Ming Dynasty and had a photo shoot. It was a great way to really experience the local culture and celebrate the #yearofrabbit ! If you travel to Zhejiang province you should definitely check out Longguan Township! If you want to go, remember the transportation: fly to Wenzhou Longwan Airport and change to the high-speed rail to Pingyang Station, then go to the Yujiang Pier to take a boat; or take the high-speed rail directly to Pingyang Station, take a 10-minute taxi to the pier; drive to Navigate to the Yujiang Pier, the journey takes about 2 hours. From Hangzhou, it’s about a 5-hour drive, enjoy a relaxed and flexible road trip. 🚄 High-speed train transfer: First arrive at Lishui Station, then book the direct shuttle bus to the scenic area via "Baba Express," ticket price 30 RMB/person, about 80 minutes direct to the scenic spot. - Must-Visit Photo Spots 📸 1️⃣ Jiuqu Yunhuan Known as the "beauty ambassador" of Yunhe Terraced Fields, it’s the best place to enjoy the sea of clouds sunrise and the magnificent terraced fields.
