Location: Stirling, central Scotland. Getting there: One hour train from either Edinburgh or Glasgow. Remember Braveheart? The Mel Gibson classic movie. That movie was based mainly in Stirling. There is a Wallace (Gibson's character but real life Scottish legend) monument overlooking the city. There is a stunning castle on a rock, also overlooking the city. Scotland has amazing historic landmarks and Stirling is right up there. #stirling #scotland

Stirling is less than an hour by train from Edinburgh which makes it a perfect city for day trip. The main attraction in Stirling is indeed Stirling Castle- built in the 13th century, and is one of the grandest castle in Scotland. From the train station, it will take about 15 min to walk uphill to reach the castle. The castle was strategically built on top of a large rock which allowed for excellent view during the many wars through the centuries. Tickets can be purchased online ( with discount), and definitely join the free guided tour which was excellent. there is also a museum for argyle on site which is interesting to visit. #Stirling #scotland #musem #urbanexplorer

This is the castle where Queen Mary of Scots was crowned and you could find maby interesting historical facts of Scotland 👑 The castle view was magnificent and it also shows you the top panoramic view of beautiful old Stirling town.

I took the train from Glasgow to Balloch and it was a smooth 50min ride. Walked to Balloch House to store my luggage (the reception was very nice to help!) and then bus to Balmaha. The main goal to to hike the Conic Hill. It was an easy hike with amazing view of Loch Lomond all along the way. I didn’t take the same route back, instead I went to the back side of the Conic hill and goes through a farming area to the main road. Again caught the bus back to Balloch and had my dinner at the guest house - fish and chips are delicious and fresh. 📌 Tips 1. Be sure to leave enough time to go to the Citylink coach station as it’s far away from the town center and on the highway. It’s about 30min walk and a little climb to the hill. 2. Make sure you look up the train, bus and coach schedule in advance and leave enough time to wait and for the connection - sometimes public transport is not reliable especially the citylink coach (I had 1h delay) 3. There are plenty of food options in Balloch and Balmaha, but check the opening hours! 4. Grab a coffee at St Mocha - it’s very cute and delicious!

This is a lovely Safari that is reachable from Edinburgh and any city nearby. The high point is the safari that you can drive your own car and see the animals really close! The rino are so close that you can feel like if you were on a real safari. The zoo part has many activities to do with kids and seniors. They have the animal feeding times that is really fun! There is lovely options to eat in place, so please reserve a full day to spend there, is really worth. I went on a Whisky Tour in Edinburgh recently, where I mainly visited Glengoyne and Deanston Distilleries. The tour was well-organized, the staff were very knowledgeable and the visits were so interactive with lots of information. Definitely an amazing, must-try experience!
