Ipoh's Summer Beaches
Ipoh may not immediately evoke the image of a coastal city, but just a one to two-hour drive from the city reveals hidden seaside gems reminiscent of the Ivory Coast: Pangkor Island and Teluk Batik, with their golden sandy beaches. These local beaches, where golden sands meet emerald waters, carry a blend of spice-laden breezes and the lively atmosphere akin to Penang. They serve as a metaphorical escape into nature for Ipoh residents.
What I appreciate most is the "time displacement" feeling of transitioning from the urban core to the coastline. In the mining town, you savor sugar-laden ice treats and coffee powder, and just beyond a hill lies the rhythmic whispers of the seaside. Teluk Nipah's gentle waves create a space for dialogue with the sea rather than conquest, while Pasir Panjang's panoramic views help recalibrate one's perspective on life amidst nature. These beaches are not mere extensions of Ipoh but rather a broader expression of the city's land. They teach us that the sea is not a distant landscape but a liberating breath that can only be truly felt after returning from the centrifugal pull of urban life.
Pangkor ⛅️
We spent a few peaceful days on Pangkor Island and it quickly became one of our favorite short getaways. The beaches, especially Nipah and Coral Bay, were quiet and clean, perfect for just laying back or taking a dip in the calm sea. We rented a motorbike and rode around the island, stopping at little roadside stalls, temples, and scenic viewpoints we loved how compact and easy it was to explore.
One of the highlights for us was visiting the Dutch Fort ruins and the nearby fishing villages, where we got a feel for the island’s slower, more traditional rhythm. We also tried fresh seafood at some local warungs it was simple, affordable, and incredibly good. Pangkor doesn’t try to impress with flash, but that’s exactly what makes it so easy to enjoy. It felt like a place where we could just switch off and take things slow.
Visit to Pangkor
Unplanned trip to Perak, Malaysia brought usto Pangkor Island. Went there thru Marina Jetty which is 10 minutes distance by ferry with ticket fees at MYR10 for adult & MYR 5.50 for kid. We spend MYR 71.00 for 2 ways. Arrived at Pangkor Island and we book a car for our convenienve there to travel to each destination. We drive to Teluk Nipah, a lots of attraction & sports activities there from ATV, Banana Boat etc. Lots of food stalls along the beach. We went to Kota Belanda, shopping chocolate at duty free zone, blue eyes anchovy which is famous there & other delicacies... as we didn't stay there more than 24hours, the chocolate is subject to 10% tax. Overall we are happy for the short trip. Will go again next year & explore more.#staycation #familytravel #pangkorisland#marinaisland

It was super easy to come here. You can come to Pangkor via Marina Jetty, Lumut - only 10mins ferry & you’ll arrive at Pangkor Jetty!
There’s a lot of hotels/accommodations selection at Pangkor. Personally, I’ll stay at Pasir Bogak instead of Teluk Nipah, less crowded and way more clean and beautiful sea!
Pulau Pangkor is now a duty free island! Variety of chocolates here, no need to go to Langkawi for duty free goods 😌
You can go around the island by renting a scooter/pink van. Easy! enjoy guys.

Pangkor 🏞️
Pangkor is a great place to relax and unwind. It has beautiful sandy beaches and you can take interesting boat trips round the coast. There are excellent seafood restaurants, for example in Teluk Nipah, and duty-free shops for those who like shopping.
You can’t forget the whole meal experience as well and it really makes a big difference whether the food was top notch or otherwise. After all, this was meant to be a 5-star experience.
This is a decent enough island. It has some minor attractions, some shopping and some decent beaches. It is no Langkawi, Penang or Tioman but is close enough to Kuala Lumpur for a short vacation#spooktaculartrip#awesomepi#couplestrip c
Islamic Architecture in Style
Visiting Pangkor Island, we stumbles across two mosques with different architectural designs. The first one that we went to was Masjid Sungai Pinang Kecil, which has Oriental elements from the design of the some, the pillars and the gateway. Sad that we didn't have enough time to look inside the interior, in the future, maybe. The next mosque that we went to was the Floating Mosque, which is situated not far from the jetty ( correct me if I’m wrong). Really great design, ample spaces and comfortable. The interior is very intricatey design, and the sound of the ocean makes one feels more peaceful inside. Wishing to visit there again soon. #awesomepic

Ikan bilis mata biru
Pangkor dah jadi pulau bebas cukai.

Pongkor islands fishing🎣#fishing #beachview. Pangkor Island (Pulau Pangkor) is famous for its fine beaches and a mix of low-budget to 5-star accommodations. Teluk Nipah, Coral Bay, and Pasir Bogak are some of the most attractive beaches on the island.
Alun Retreat at Pangkor Island
It is the perfect getaway with views so stunning and scenic they will take your breath away. Cozy and quiet environment.
Dutch Fort ~ Kota Belanda @ Pangkor
#historicalfort #wartime #fortsinmalaysia
You may have heard for the red fort at malacca, and that is super touristy. If you prefer something new or less touristy, can consider checking out the Kota Belanda Dutch fort when you make a visit to Pangkor island.
Given that this is less commonly visited, would have to say that it is in a much better preserved condition. If you know how to capture good shots, you will be able to get some interest shots here, pretending to be soldiers. If you have kids interested in military related items, consider taking them here before visiting the beach at Pangkor just to visit this historical site.
