Whenever I go to Hakone, I change trains at Odawara, but this was my first time getting off the station and exploring the nearby areas. It's a two-hour trip from Tokyo on the Tokaido Line, so it's perfectly fine for a day trip. Odawara Castle is just a ten-minute walk from the station, so it's easy to get to. Speaking of Odawara, it's also famous for its delicious seafood.

Rokeyaki-so is the residence of a tea master named Matsunaga Yasuzaemon, also known as Mimian, and is a tea room built in 1946 after he moved from Tokorozawa City, Saitama Prefecture. 🍵 The beautiful moss-covered tea room was in the middle of a practice session today, so I couldn't go inside, but I was able to spend a relaxing time strolling around the garden, listening to the sound of the trees swaying and following the whereabouts of the small birds that are used to people. 🍃 It takes about an hour to see the whole thing from Hakone Tozan Railway, Hakone Itabashi Station, so it's a perfect course for a walk. 😊 The autumn leaves must be beautiful during the autumn season. ❣️✨✨ #Autumn trip #Accommodation report #Walk #Hiking

I came here to see the ocean, but I ended up being drawn to the tuna. It's a powerful attraction. 🐟 I've always lined up at "fishing port stations," or new spots, around Hayakawa, to get things like otoro donburi, but I didn't know about this place... it's a hidden gem 🕳 The owner was also a kind and nice guy 😊 The marinated tuna donburi contains various parts, marinated in sesame and seasoned soy sauce, which adds to the flavor, and I enjoyed the sweetness, fat, and chewy texture of each part. You can also choose vinegared rice. And above all, it's extremely fresh ❣️ I also recommend the fried horse mackerel 😋 The boneless, fluffy and juicy meat ✨ It's a masterpiece that will completely change your image of tuna ❣️ The small bowl of sweet and sour tuna also goes well with rice 🍚 There are also souvenir fences.
