The Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) trek is complete.
Preface: I heard that you only need legs to go to ABC, and I believed it. After finishing the trek, I will never come again🙊
ABC stands for Annapurna Base Camp, round trip from Pokhara, completed in 6 days and 5 nights.
🎟Entrance permit: Immigration Office, Pokhara. Note that the office is closed on Saturdays and closes early. It is recommended to go in the morning. Fee: 3000 Nepalese rupees. Free maps and brochures are provided, which are very useful.
✏ABC personal itinerary:
D1, Pokhara - Ghorepani-Komrong Danda trek 3h
D2, KD - Sinuwa trek 8.5h
D3, Sinuwa - Deurali trek 9h
D4, Deurali - ABC trek 6h
D5, ABC- Bamboo trek 10h
D6, Bamboo-Jhinu-Pokhara trek 9h
✨tips:
1⃣To enter the mountain, take a taxi to Pokhara bus stand, take a local bus to the Jeep transfer point, and take a shared car to Ghandruk to start the trek. 💰Bus 400 (guess 300 is enough), JEEP shared car 365 (depending on the number of people) To leave the mountain, Jhinu chartered car 7000 directly back to Pokhara
2⃣During the rainy season, there are leeches in the area. Bring salt. If you are bitten, do not pull it hard. Sprinkle salt or burn it with fire, and it will melt into a ball and fall off.
3⃣Accommodation in the mountains is free! Regular operation, free accommodation, dinner and breakfast consumption, hot shower/charging/WiFi can be negotiated at a price, separate items are not cost-effective, and it is easier to bargain with more people.
My five-night accommodation reference (per capita Nepalese rupee)
🛌Komrong Guest House Not recommended, simple conditions, local farmhouse, no hot water, free charging and WIFI, 💰Accommodation 100
🛌Kalpana guest house Highly recommended, free accommodation, charging and WIFI, 💰Hot shower 250
🛌Shangrila Guest House Recommended, package price 💰WiFi/hot shower/charging 500
🛌HOTEL SNOWLAND LODGE Not recommended, 💰 WiFi/hot shower/charging 150
🛌Buddha guest house Not recommended, very humid, moldy 💰WiFi/hot shower/charging 500
4⃣Clothing: The temperature during the rainy season is not very low, a light down jacket or windproof shell jacket is recommended. It is more useful to bring simple moisture-proof supplies. Raincoats should be thick, otherwise the inside will be wet even if it rains outside. It is best to wear high-top hiking shoes, and hiking poles are essential. Later, they can be used as crutches. Useful gadgets, sanitary napkins... My pair of low-top mesh running shoes have never been dry, thanks to them for keeping them dry.
5⃣Porter! 💯Recommended, I was exhausted from carrying my own backpack for the first two days. The owner of the accommodation on the third day helped me find one (actually his relative). My partner and I hired one for 2500 per day, two bags 24kg, the last day I hired one for 2000, and finally gave 2500. Note that the price does not include meals and accommodation.
6⃣Regarding meals, the prices are similar after entering the mountain, and the higher the price. Remember to bring a water bottle! There is no bottled water sold in Sinuwa. Hot water costs money. Coke is available for 250-350.
7⃣Most importantly! Bring money, more is better than less! Then insurance! In case of emergency, helicopter rescue downhill!
💰Total cost: about 1200 RMB
