Halfway between Lanzhou in Gansu province and Chengdu in Sichuan lies Langmusi, a small border town famed for its Tibetan monasteries and surrounding mountains. You can get here by bus from either Lanzhou or Chengdu in about 6 to 8 hours. Although there is really only one main street here, you can still find lots of places to stay such as hotels and hostels. The place is quite popular among Chinese tourists, so you won't have to look far for accommodation. The same goes for food. All along the main street, there are plenty of small restaurants. You won't find a KFC or McDonald's here, but that is a good thing as you can discover the local cuisine. There are several Tibetan restaurants where you can have yak meat or momos, but my favorite is the yak yogurt. You won't be bored in Langmusi. You can easily spend a couple of days here exploring the monasteries and climbing the mountains such as the red rock mountain. A little further away from the town are some other beautiful places such as Zhagana, Zoige grasslands and flower lake. They are all easily accessible on a day trip. For something a little more active contact the Black Tent Cafe. They can take you on horse riding tours, wildlife watching tours or even let you fly in a hot air balloon.

Another region worth visiting in China is the Northwest. The nature there is very beautiful and magnificent. Today, we would like to recommend one place, Gahai Lake, a large freshwater lake in Gansu Province. It is a tourist attraction that is not very crowded. There is no entrance fee. The brown grass fields in summer contrast with the clear blue water that stretches as far as the eye can see. It is very beautiful here. The sun is quite strong. It is recommended to bring sunscreen. #MissingNature

Langmu Temple | Gannan must pass the pilgrimage site Some people say "Do not come to Langmu Temple, equal to not to Gannan", which shows the importance of this Tibetan Buddhist monastery in Gannan. Langmu Temple is generally planned to travel in Gannan or North Sichuan. It is close to the Gannan Labrang Monastery to the north and the Zoige Grassland to the south. [Recommended travel itinerary] arrive at Langmu Temple at noon on the first day. In the afternoon, visit the Gedi Temple in Sichuan, then walk to the Bailongjiang Gorge and stay in the town at night. The next morning, I went to the Gandan Sai Chi Temple in Gansu. After that, you can take the Noons shuttle bus to leave Langmu Temple and go to other attractions in Gannan. [What can I experience here? 1 Langmu Temple Riding Langmu Temple There is a horse-riding tour nearby. The horse team has a consultation shop in the town. The price ranges from 150-400 yuan. The horse-riding destination includes the source of Bailongjiang and Hongshi. Cliffs, flowers and other places. 2 Langmu Temple celestial burial is biased toward Gansu in Langmu Temple. There is a celestial burial platform on the back hill of Saiji Temple. The celestial burial in this area is more open and can be viewed by tourists. If you have the consent of your family, you can take pictures. 3 Turning the mountains and turning the water to the stupa Tibetan people's devout faith is the snow lotus in the sky, full of pure to pure. They are kind and simple, and they only turn for the faith. An ancient turn of the road outside Xiahe Labrang Monastery is a lap I have to go to the Labrang Monastery every time. This is also one of my favorite temples.

The golden reeds along the shore bend into soft arcs, while the distant mountains blur into layers of ink-wash hues under the misty rain, resembling an unfinished Chinese painting. The car wheels roll over the bumpy surface of Provincial Road 312, and outside the window, the flowing landscape resembles ribbons of green and yellow silk. Grasslands and wetlands stretch out in a patchwork, with herds of yaks scattered like black pearls across the alpine meadows. In the distance, thin smoke rises from herders' tents, leaving only the sound of the wind and the rhythmic breathing of the car wheels in this vast expanse. The strong wind at Guomang Wetland immediately fills your clothes. The meandering rivers on the grassland twist like silver ribbons, and amidst the withered yellow meadows, small purple wildflowers stubbornly sway in the wind. Gahai Lake is a delightful surprise. After purchasing a ticket to enter, you’ll see the lake cradling a vibrant shallow area—deep green, light yellow, dark ochre, and muted gold water plants interweave with rich textures, resembling a spilled palette soaking in the clear autumn waters. In the distance, bar-headed geese skim across the water, breaking the serene, painting-like scene. Travel Tips: 1. When traveling from Labrang to Langmusi Town, it is highly recommended to take Provincial Road 312 and then switch to National Road 213. Although this route is several dozen kilometers longer and includes about 40 kilometers of bumpy roads, it has very little traffic, offers stunning scenery, and allows for frequent stops to take photos. 2. Guomang Wetland is free to visit. The scenery is average, and the wind is so strong it can cause headaches, so it’s best to bring a hat. 3. Many online reviews of Gahai Lake are not favorable. I was initially hesitant to visit, but after experiencing it, I found the autumn grasslands to be absolutely stunning and highly recommend it.

For just a few dozen yuan in entrance fees, you can enjoy snow-capped peaks, colorful forests, and golden grasslands. At Labrang Monastery, the red walls contrast with the golden poplars, while the smoke from the Tibetan village of Zhagana winds through the colorful woods. The Ruoergai grasslands turn golden, resembling soft pineapple buns.
