During the day, kite flying at the Shimada venue, the sight of the sky being filled with very splendid and beautifully painted kites, was magnificent, very gorgeous and wonderful. At night, the magnificent and beautiful Goten Yatai floats were pulled around the Hirokoji area in the center of the city... It was a powerful festival full of impact, and the power of this festival was generated by the feelings of the people who wished for the healthy growth of their children. Unfortunately, even though it had been a long time since the last time it was held, I was unable to go this year, so the image is a photo from the last Hamamatsu Festival before the COVID-19 pandemic. From noon, I was able to see and take pictures of the Goten Yatai floats from up close at the venue where they were on display, so it was great to be able to see even the intricate details of the decorations. As evening approached, people carrying matching happi coats gathered, and as the sound of Fueya drums began to ring, the Goten Yatai floats set off one by one. The town was filled with an overflowing wave of people, following behind the floats of their own town, cheering at the beauty of the Goten Yatai floats, the main event of the festival, and the power of being pulled around. It was so much fun that I'm definitely going to go next year.

I wanted to eat delicious seafood in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka Prefecture! So I stayed at DAIWA ROYAL HOTEL THE HAMANAKO. In summer, wind chimes are displayed at the entrance, and they greet you with a beautiful sound every time you enter. The view from the room is excellent, with a great view of Lake Hamana. After taking a break at the hotel and admiring the view, I went to Unagi Kappo Yasukawa to eat eel from Lake Hamana for dinner. I was able to use a domestic travel support coupon, so I was very satisfied with the fragrant and fluffy eel from Lake Hamana at a great price without paying anything! The atmosphere of the restaurant was also good. The next day, I wanted to eat delicious seafood again, so I was driving around Lake Hamana and came across a Japanese set meal restaurant called Michitomo, so I decided to go in. The restaurant was decorated with many maneki-neko (beckoning cats), and the nostalgic and warm atmosphere of the restaurant made me feel at ease. Here we had the sashimi set meal. My husband had the fried scallop set meal. Both came with chawanmushi (savory egg custard). It gets busy at lunchtime so we had to wait a bit in the car, but we were able to eat a large amount of delicious seafood so we decided to wait patiently. The Hamamatsu Festival was held for three days on May 3rd, 4th, and 5th. I encountered this festival at Hamazu Station on May 4th. At first, I didn't know what the festival was, but I followed the crowd and found a line of people heading to the bus stop for the kite-flying venue. The Hamamatsu Festival is... "It's a celebration of the birth of the first child, and everyone in the community celebrates together, praying for the healthy growth of children." It's a "citizen's festival" that has nothing to do with the festivals of shrines and temples. The kite-flying is the main event during the day, with the participation of over 170 towns, and at night, the "Pulling of the Palace Float" takes place. During the day, I was able to see the Palace Float displayed in front of Hamamatsu Station. It's a festival that attracts over 1 million tourists, but this was the first time I was able to learn more about it. Hamamatsu's local izakaya♡ "Hamamatsu Tanto" Even if you feel like eating something local, there are surprisingly few izakayas in Hamamatsu🥺 The staff here are lively and it was great to go to this restaurant❤️It was busy even on a weekday! Everything I ate was delicious(^^)

This is a private resort hotel on Lake Hamana✨ It has a luxurious tropical atmosphere There is a golf course right in front of you⛳️ The rooms are spacious and the views are great✨

Okura Act City Hotel Hamamatsu♡ Conveniently located near the station♡ & weddings are held here too, and the rooms are luxurious, but the price was cheap (^^) The rooms are on the 32nd to 44th floors, so you can see the night view of Hamamatsu city below! I stayed at Hoshino Resorts Kai Enshu, where you can see Lake Hamana and the tea fields from your room. ♨️ There is a tea cellar where you can try many different types of tea 🍵 You can also take the tea back to your room, so you can enjoy Lake Hamana at your leisure while drinking tea. I have stayed at Hoshino Resorts Kai in various places, but the food has never been bad! Every place is very delicious! I was also very satisfied with the eel I had at Enshu. The hot springs also switch between men's and women's baths at night and in the morning, so you can enjoy different hot springs.
