The fastest way to reach Jungfraujoch from Grindelwald is by taking the Eiger Express cable car from Grindelwald First station and then transferring to a train. Each cable car cabin can accommodate over 20 people, but due to the limited seating on the mountain train, the cable cars are rarely full. In the morning, sitting on the left side of the cable car offers views of the north face of the Eiger, while the right side provides a view of the Grindelwald valley. Although the mountain slope view might seem more appealing, keep in mind that the morning sun shines on the Eiger side, making it brighter and more challenging for photography due to backlighting and glare. Therefore, it is recommended to sit on the right side (near the door) for a more comfortable experience.

Grindelwald, known as the most beautiful town in Switzerland, is covered with green grass like a postcard, so beautiful that you will linger. The hotel we stayed in this trip was a five-star hotel right next to Grindelwald Station - Romantik Hotel Schweizerhof Grindelwald. As expected of Switzerland, the most expensive country, the housing prices are also quite amazing. A comfortable twin room of 28 square meters costs NT$16,500 for two people including breakfast. Although it is not cheap, it is worth it. The wooden cottage hotel is quite warm and elegant, all the decorations are beautifully decorated, and the comfort level is absolutely impeccable. However, the most amazing thing about the hotel is the breathtaking view outside the window. The view is right there when you open the window! The magnificent Alps are right before your eyes, it is so refreshing that it is not an exaggeration to say that it is the Wizard of Oz. In general, although the hotel's decoration design is not modern and luxurious, it is more suitable for Grindelwald, a small town at the foot of the Alps. Switzerland, my healing travel diary 🌿 Day 1: Waking up to snow-capped mountains outside the window I woke up in a log cabin in Grindelwald, with the morning light of the Alps shining on the Eiger. I stared blankly with my coffee in hand—so the scenes in fairy tales really do exist. 🚂 Day 2: Taking the train into a postcard The GoldenPass Line slowly climbed uphill. On the left was the unrealistically blue Lake Brienz, and on the right were cliffs with waterfalls. My camera ran out of battery. 🦢 Day 3: Losing track of time on Lake Lucerne While feeding the swans, a local grandma handed me a piece of chocolate and smiled in German, saying "Guten Tag." Suddenly, I felt that a language barrier could also be very heartwarming. 🧀 Day 4: The adventure of cheese fondue I plucked up the courage to try the sticky cheese fondue, paired with chilled white wine, and surprisingly tasted the sunshine of the Alpine pastures. ⛰️ Day 5: Hiking the Jungfrau In the cold wind at an altitude of 3,454m, I watched the sea of clouds rolling under my feet and suddenly understood why the Swiss always say, "Take your time, the scenery won't run away." ✨ Last day: Getting lost in the town of Spiez I turned a corner and encountered a garden full of roses. An old man in a straw hat was pruning grapevines. He winked: "Next time you come, I'll treat you to my homemade wine." What Switzerland taught me: Some places are more interesting when you get lost; Some scenery must be experienced in person to be understood; And some emotions will remain in your heart and become eternal.

Grindelwald's dreamy slopes in perfect Swiss weather 😭 I asked my friend where I should go if I only had one day and couldn't make it to First Cliff Walk or Jungfraujoch. She said Grindelwald's dreamy slopes were a must-see (it's also a necessary stop on the way to First Cliff Walk and Jungfraujoch, so if you're planning to go up the mountains, consider staying here! I heard that hotels need to be booked in advance and are quite expensive). I was incredibly lucky to come during the National Day holiday in October! The weather was absolutely perfect for viewing the dreamy slopes! Blue skies, white clouds, snow-capped mountains, and green slopes—the world is truly beautiful 💗 The air was sweet! It was a day of having Swiss mountain lungs! The little mountain train shuttled in front of the snow-capped mountains, making me feel like I was in a painting 🌍 I checked some notes sharing the best spots to photograph the dreamy slopes. The parking lot platform of the Jungfrau Lodge, Crystal hotel, a few hundred meters down the road to the right of the train station, was closed off in October with barricades marked "private," so no photos could be taken there. But if you continue down the same road, you can still capture beautiful scenery!

#2024Travel Review Stayed at Hôtel & Apartments Kirchbühl in Grindelwald, Switzerland. Since we rented a car and drove ourselves, we chose this hotel with a remote location but a good view. From the balcony of the room, you can see the magnificent Eiger Peak, and the beautiful scenery is unobstructed! Hotel Kirchbuhl is a wooden building. It seems that all hotels in the Swiss mountains are in the shape of wooden houses, blending in with nature, which is quite dreamy. The interior of the house is also decorated with wood, which is very warm. There is also a self-operated restaurant, La Marmite, where we have breakfast, which is very rich and has a variety of cheeses. As for housing prices, prices in Switzerland are high and accommodation is really not cheap. The most basic double room of 6 pings with a balcony and breakfast included costs NT$10,000 per night for two people.
