This vibrant street, often mistaken for a square due to its width, stretches from the Golden Gate to the Green Gate and is lined with colorful, intricately designed townhouses. Some of these historic buildings feature exquisite paintings and details that tell stories of Gdańsk’s rich past. Once used as the Polish king's ceremonial route, it's also known as the Royal Boulevard. We took our time exploring this lively area, soaking in the charm of its architecture and the bustling yet relaxed atmosphere. Wake up early for an intimate and very enjoyable stroll around the Old Town of Gdansk. As most people aren't awake yet, it's a perfect time to take pictures without the crowds. You'll feel as if the Old Town is there all for yourself. Do keep in mind it can be chillier in the morning, especially in spring, so do layer up. As the day progresses, you'll feel a bit hot though. I suggest you a walk around the town early in the morning. Grab something like to eat and head back to your hotel for a nap if you're tired before visiting again! The Ibis is near the train station, around 10 mins walk away. It's also very near to the Old Town, which was a good 15 mins walk. The area near the hotel has a mall with some food options and immediately across the hotel, there's a convenience store which makes it quite convenient. The area is also quite quiet so your stay should be quite comfortable. The rooms are a decent size and the decor is also quite modern and new. A very good choice to be a bit away from the old town for a cheaper and quieter stay . #hotel #gdansk #poland

Gdańsk is an amazing hybrid, which makes sense due to its long history of being a crucial international trade/ shipping port city in the northeast of Europe, along with being ruled by various nations (& ruling itself, as Danzig). It reminds me of a blend of Amsterdam & Vienna, especially in the Old Town, but with a progressive Scandinavian sense of style & culture & hospitality. English is widely spoken, it’s clean & safe & modern (outside of the Old Town architecture) & the prices are VERY economical for most westerners, especially. I loved the city, & wound up extending my stay from only a few nights, to almost 2 weeks! Marlborough Castle, known as the Dotnik Aldo Castle, was once the headquarters of the German Teutonic Knights. The construction of the castle is red, walking from the train station and you can see it from afar. The shape of the castle is rectangular and depends on the Nogart River. The castle doesn't look big, but walk slowly inside, and it takes at least half a day to look at it. The religious function of the Marlborough Castle Collection Monastery, a comprehensive building that combines with the castle's military defense functions, is the world's largest brick-structured castle, representing the highest level of construction of the entire medieval castle.

It is a member of the United Nations-rated World Cultural Heritage List and is the largest brick building and Goth in Europe. The castle is still the only castle ruins built by the Teutonic Knights. Marburg German means "the castle of the Virgin Mary", but in fact its name is "Tedonic Aldo Castle", but for the convenience of memory, we still call her "Marlborough Castle" Put it. #celebrateit Can tell that the place has the skill from the array of desserts on display, but the ingredients used are not what I would have wished. Ordered a mango chocolate tart, but the mango flavor here doesn’t taste quite like natural mango but concentrated mango syrup. And there’s a chewy element in the cake (like brined fruit), I suppose it is brined mango, but that’s not a good taste of brined mango (speaking from someone growing up in tropical country). To me this dessert doesn’t represent mango well. For the price, more care could be taken. Was thinking maybe it’s only fair to try another one before leaving a review, but overall I found it having too much sugar that it clouded flavors; so eventually I still decided not to. There’s not much in this dessert that requires sugar for structural integrity or moisture retention actually. But the staff is very welcoming and supportive when I was ordering. Kudos to the service. #celebrateit This place uses quality ingredients, from flour, DOP tomato to DOP cheeses; and proper technique to render the dough the typical fermented flavor I enjoy from Italian pizza itself. But that was pretty much it. Good pizza, but not worth the hype if you’re travelers from outside Poland (especially you have good access to good Italian food in your home country, coz this is by no means exceptional or to-die-for kinda pizza by the standard of Italian pizza itself). I ordered one of the fancier pizza, which is supposed to have a few premium ingredients extra compared to Margerita with extra 16+zl or so. But it turned out the extra ingredients were just sprinkled sparingly on top and weren’t contributing much to the overall taste performance. So if anyone wanna try, I’d recommend just get a Margerita (33zl) rather than the fancier ones. That one should be darn worthy. Speaking of the texture, the pizza has a soggy middle, which is not the most pleasant texture nor tidy way to eat pizza. But I agree with the disclaimer in the menu that they wanna stay true to the traditional Neapolitan pizza, so I’m not discrediting anything due to the texture. Service is certainly not attentive for sure. Three groups of people waiting in 4degree Celsius out there for 5-10mins without getting seated while there are ample of seat inside. And they took order sequence not very seriously, people who ordered the same pizza as I did but after me yet got their food before me, and the waitress was like “so? 1. Address - Gdańsk centre Highlights - such a cute and cosy centre. Filled with locals and barely any tourists around. There are so many cute restaurants you can eat at, at such a good price. Rating - 10/10 2. Address - Shopping Mall 🛍️ Highlights - definitely recommend this shopping centre if you wanna do some damage! They have all the big brands inside and at lower prices than UK prices! Rating - 10/10 3. Address - Peroni 🍴 Highlights - such a good restaurant at such a good price right in the city centre. Mini heaters around the outside seating area which made the atmosphere very cosy despite the slightly colder weather!! ££ was very good as well for what you get! Rating - 10/10
