This is Shenzhen's Dapeng Bay's "Cloud Sea Angel Bay." 💗 The water sparkles under the bright sun. 📸 Cliff Train: A great photo op. There's a seaside capsule train here. It only has two carriages. These cute little trains were originally white and retro. 💗 When I first went there, they were collaborating with McDonald's 🍔 and the trains were remodeled with McDonald's logos. So cute! It seems they've returned to their original white color scheme in recent days! Weekdays aren't crowded, so there's no need to queue. 💗 The tickets aren't too expensive (¥15 one-way, ¥25 round-trip), but we ended up catching it from outside. The train curves along the cliff edge and arrives at the station. 😬🤪 It's only a few hundred meters away. 📸 Retro American-style seaside station The train's final stop connects to the beautiful beach! There's also a retro-style cafe called Wildspark here. With a purchase, you can take as many photos as you want. 📸☺️ The interior, decorated in red, blue, and white, resembles a vintage American station, creating a stunning atmosphere. 💗 For photo-op lovers, a must-do is to stop in! It's suitable for a weekend getaway if you're from within the province, but travelers from other cities should plan extra time if combining it with urban sightseeing. 🌴 The resort is large, with standard beach vacation facilities, but the overall design isn't particularly striking or impressive. The beach has many broken shells and coarse sand—if you want a better beach experience, resorts in Sanya or Southeast Asia are recommended. 🤹‍♀️ Plenty of kid-friendly activities: crafts, go-karts, a petting zoo, etc. In the evening, the lobby bar features live violin performances and singers. 🧖‍♀️ The spa’s one-hour aromatherapy massage is highly recommended—you can customize your blend using doTERRA essential oils. I ended up taking a long nap during mine 🥱 🍴 The dining options are decent since there aren’t many nearby restaurants or commercial areas. The Chinese restaurant on the third floor serves flavorful wok-fried dishes in generous portions. The made-to-order rice noodle rolls at the all-day dining restaurant on the first floor are a must-try. The bakery’s egg yolk pastries come in several tasty flavors, but their bread (loaded with artificial cream) is a pass 😓 ❌ Downsides: - Lower-floor rooms have no view—opt for a sea-view room on the 5th floor or higher. - The outdoor pool’s underwater lighting at night is terrible—swimming in pitch darkness feels like navigating the treacherous Amazon River. - The remote location means limited nearby attractions and dining options. A friend ended up eating KFC for three days straight 😂 - Poor soundproofing—you can hear kids playing and even conversations from next door. - Weekends get crowded and chaotic, mostly with families. ✅ In short: - Great if you want a beach getaway with kids and don’t mind the location. - Not ideal if you seek a quiet retreat or have high expectations for hotel design.

Dalugang is a coastal hike similar to Dongxichong. The difference is this one is quieter with less people and the rocks are larger rather than smaller. It is of similar difficulty. It goes for around 6KM and it ends at several points with Xigong village being the common one. There are at least 2 beaches here which are small but nice enough. This ancient temple hidden next to Dapeng Suocheng has bougainvillea blooming perfectly in October🌸 I remember the last time I came to Dongshan Temple, it was a rainy day with a very serene Zen atmosphere🏯 but this time on a sunny day, it felt completely different. The architecture and colors of the ancient temple appeared more vibrant, and with the blooming pink-purple bougainvillea✨ there was a delicate feeling of strolling through a "palace." If you visit Dapeng for a trip🚗, be sure to set aside half an hour for this ancient temple nestled by the mountain and sea. It is only a few steps away from Dapeng Fortress, which is quite convenient. ✨Leshan BBQ•Chongqing Noodles is a barbecue and Chinese restaurant on Nanmen East Road in Dapeng Fort. It offers a wide variety of food, including porridge, noodles, rice, dim sum, barbecue, stir-fried dishes, and drinks. The edge of the deck is a great place for skyline photos. The view is amazing! 🏖️ We went hiking in the spring. The weather is cool and has overcast skies. This made for wonderful contrast photos with sweater weather. This temperature is enjoyable and there aren’t many insects. There are plenty of song birds and lovely dogs. The descent is best done slowly. We opted for the gentle slope so we could stay comfortable. We made it down from the 3rd deck in just one hour. With a big group it’s better to gather together near the end of the trail and travel out together. Ride the tram back to the start point at YangMeiKeng bridge. Cost is 13¥. The seaside view is marvelous.
