All Moments About Chichen Itza
One of the seven wonders of the world 🗺️ ⭐️
If visiting Yucatan’s part of Mexico, from Cancun to Tulum, Chichen Itza is a must stop! This ancient city is filled with a thousand years of history and it is just amazing.
Pro tip: get there early, right when they open (8am). You will avoid crowds (better photos and less people) and high temperatures (it gets super hot and humid).

Magical Chichen Itza
I can only describe Chichen Itza in one word: wow. This historical site in Yucatan, Mexico is simply breathtaking. It is known around the world for its majestic pyramid, but there is much more to explore.
You can easily visit the site on your own by taking a bus from Cancun, Playa del Carmen or Tulum where most tourists usually stay Getting there will take around two and a half hours. But there are also many day tours organized for roughly 40 dollars including entrance to the site.
The actual archeological site is huge, and you can't possibly see it all, so focus on the highlights. Besides the famous pyramid, there is also a kind of ball court where the ancient Mayans used to play sports. You may also explore the surrounding forest where you can spot many species of bird.
General Admission: Adults $533 MXN

Chichén It
Chichén Itzá is a complex of Mayan ruins on Mexico's Yucatán Peninsula. A massive step pyramid, known as El Castillo or Temple of Kukulcan, dominates the ancient city, which thrived from around 600 A.D. to the 1200s.

My third Wonder of the World: Chichén Itzá
My third wonder of the modern world: a Mayan engineering and architecture masterpiece in the wilderness of Yucatan (Mexico). El Castillo is certainly the symbol of Chichen Itza and was built to be a real calendar.
During the spring and autumn equinoxes, as the sun goes down and the sun rises, the corners of the pyramid cast a feathered serpent-shaped shadow, Kukulkan; clapping his hands the sound that breaks against the steps (inclined at 45 degrees) reproduces the bird of paradise's own verse and during the ceremonies the Mayan kings made blood flow along the corners of the pyramid to call the god of rain to earth.
The sensations that are perceived here are really intense, an energy difficult to explain in words, but I hope that these shots will get you there at least a little.
We visited this Mayan site in February and the jungle temperatures are really high. Bring lots of water with you and try to avoid the central hours of the day. Recommended the visit with a Mayan guide, you will fall in love with his words.
In the meantime, I hope that my next wonder of the world could be the Taj Mahal, and instead you, which one would you choose?

[World Heritage Site] Information for making the most of Chichen Itza
I visited Chichen Itza, a World Heritage Site on Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula, in February during its best season.
I'll share the information I learned from my visit to Chichen Itza to make the most of it.
🕰️Recommended time to visit
The sun gets stronger and hotter from around 12:00. Also, as time passes after the opening, the number of tour groups increases.
I recommend arriving at the ticket office before 8:00 and entering immediately after opening to see Chichen Itza with fewer customers and relatively mild sunlight.
✳️If it is already crowded when you arrive, you can also use a guide service with priority entry privileges.
🚍️Recommended way to get there
There are tours that depart from the Cancun area between 4:00 and 5:00, but it is early in the morning and the round-trip bus ride takes a long time of 6 to 7 hours.
My recommendation is to stay in Valladolid, which is just under an hour away by bus, and then go to Chichen Itza.
There is a shared bus from this town to Chichen Itza. The shared bus stop opens at 6:30 and departs as soon as the bus arrives and the passengers have gathered. When I took the bus in February 2025, the fare was 100 Mexican pesos round trip.
👜 Recommended items to bring
The maximum size of carry-on luggage is 30cm long x 20cm wide x 20cm high.
To protect against the heat and sunlight, we recommend bringing a wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, and drinks. There are few places to buy drinks inside the ruins.
Please note that there is an additional fee for bringing a camera. There is no additional fee for taking photos with a smartphone.
📷️Especially crowded spots
The "Castillo (Pyramid of Kukulkan)" (1st and 2nd images) and the "Ball Court" are particularly crowded, so if you want to take photos with fewer people in them, we recommend going to these spots early.
🌼Other attractions
The high-rise tomb (3rd and 4th images) also contains a statue of Kukulkan, a god in the form of a feathered snake.
You can also feel the height of the Mayan civilization's astronomical knowledge at Caracol (observation deck).
The Temple of the Warriors and the Stone Colonnade area have countless columns, which are also spectacular. (5th image)
If you are going around without a guide, there are explanatory signs near the ruins where you can learn about the ruins.
🕰️Opening hours: 8:00-16:00
💰Price per person: 671 Mexican pesos (for foreign tourists)
Please check the latest information as it may change.

As one of
As one of the largest and best-preserved archaeological sites in the world, Chichen Itza is home to a myriad of ancient Mayan marvels and rich cultural histories cherished by travelers across the globe.
El Castillo—in Spanish, “the castle”—looms at the center of Chichén Itzá, a 79-foot pyramid of stone. Also known as the Pyramid of Kukulkán, the structure embodies Mayan myth along with natural astronomical cycles. The phenomenon that El Castillo is famous for occurs twice each year, at the spring and fall equinoxes .#travel #pyramid #vacation #adventure #bucketlist

To Chichen Itza, Mexico 🇲🇽
I applied for a tour and left Cancun for Chichen Itza to see the ruins.
The car was full of people from various countries. It was full of tourists.
After a while, the surroundings were completely different from Cancun.
A little off the beaten path, it was a completely different world with a completely different security and scenery.
Going through there, we reached Chichen Itza.
A large ruin came into view beyond the line of souvenir shops.
There is a slight time difference between the locations of Cancun and Chichen Itza even within Mexico.
I was impressed by the large Chichen Itza, which I had never seen before.
It was full of tourists. I took a lot of unusual photos.
Chichen Itza is the center of Mayan civilization. You may be able to feel the mysterious power.

Chichen Itza- Mayan Ruins
Chichen Itza is well connected to major cities in Mexico. It is located in Yucatán Peninsula and near to Cancun. One can take flight to Cancun and take a Day tour to Chichen Itza. There are different ways to reach there from Cancun. One can take Private Buses, Tour Buses, or can drive by Car. Roads from Cancun to Chichen Itza are very good and easy to drive. Tours will combine several attractions like Canote so this is also good way to explore Chechen Itza.
Once you are there you need to buy entry Ticket and then you are free to explore Chichen Itza Complex. It’s gets really hot in afternoon so arrive early to avoid rush and heat. There are multiple ruins in this complex and can take from 3-4 hours to explore. Later you can head to one of the Canote and take bath also after paying some money. This Canote is outside of Chichen Itza Complex.
There will be several shops inside near pyramid where you get souvenirs.

#holidayvacation Chichen Itza and its temple of kukulkan is the icon of Mayan culture. However, the attraction itself is too touristy nowadays, every five steps there will be someone asking to sell something and it is swarmed with tourists too.

Super chea
Super cheap to play Mayan pyramid! In addition to being a Mayan ruin,
Chichen Itza is now a large Mexican handicraft market. Each of the roads leading to various scenic spots is lined up with handicraft stalls, from 1 for a refrigerator, about 30 for a T-shirt or a traditional Mexican dress, to hundreds of pesos. Large tapestries and giant wood carvings are exquisite, and the flowers feel that if you have plenty of time and enough baggage, you can really buy some favorite.
and our attractions are different from the compulsory production line. Many of the products here are all written by the owner, and they are seen alongside the sales and creation. Handcrafted unique crafts are still very valuable. Remember to kill the price!
There are no restaurants in Chichen Itza. Only the snack pavilions such as ice cream, drinks and potato chips are sold. Considering the number of trips, everyone needs to spend lunch time in the scenic spot. I suggest everyone. Prepare some dry food and enough drinking water to start.
After a whole day, I and my brother-in-law have spent about 1,000 pesos per person in Chichen Itza. In fact, the budget can be controlled at around RMB 200. Realizing the Mayan dream cheaply, this program is still very good!

Chichen It
Chichen Itza is the ancient Mayan city site, including the Pyramid of the Feathers, The largest stadium preserved in Mexico, The Temple of the Man with a Beard, the natural well of 23 meters deep, and the Thousand Columns Hall. "It is the site of ancient Mayan culture and Toltic culture."
The middle of Chichen Itza is a temple built for the feathers and snakes. The foundation of the pyramid is square, and the four sides rise up the stairs until the temple at the top. In the spring and autumn equinoxes, at sunrise and sunset, the corners of the building cast a serpentine shadow on the steps north of the pyramid and slide down the north as the sun moves.
The most shocking story I heard about Chichen Itza is that the ball game is not a sporting event for the Maya, but a religious activity. The two players can only use the elbows, knees and buttocks to hit the rubber ball into the stone circle on the wall of the stadium. It is said that the captain of the victory party will be the sacrifice party, the blood sacrifice god, and the sacrifice is the fresh heart dug out. The heart is dug out and placed in the tray in the hands of Chakmo (Figure 5).
Tickets: 254 pesos, you can swipe your card.
Opening time: 8:00-17:00
ADO bus from Cancun, about 3 hours, you can also drive.

We are fam
We are familiar with the Maya Pyramid during the day. It is still parking in the parking lot and paying a parking fee of 30 pesos. Obviously, the car is much more than yesterday, and the parking space is not so good. Time has come to 10 am, although I have been urging myself to avoid the tour group as early as possible, but it is still late.
There is no suspense, the Kukulcan Pyramid stands there, but it looks more spectacular than the night! In the square that is still surrounded in the evening, you can walk freely during the day. Although there are a lot of tourists, you can still find a very quiet angle. All you have to do is try to bypass the back of the pyramid. But here is really very dry! This is a place where you have to go to the foreigner to have an umbrella.
This is a typical tourist attraction, full of small business hawkers, selling souvenirs. That color caught me all at once. The colored gimmicks are really addictive. I thought there should be a lot of places to sell souvenirs in the back. I was afraid of breaking them all the way, and I never met them again. Especially exquisite and beautiful Mexican straw hat refrigerator stickers, just see it, it is more delicate than other places! And it is not very expensive, remember to bargain.

Chichen It
Chichen Itza, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, no one who has come to the Yucatan Peninsula will miss this place. I have seen a lot of travel tips, shooting Chichen Itza during the day. But the night here is also very beautiful, and there is a fantastic sound and light show, starting at 8 o'clock every night. Today's goal is this show!
Because the car rental has been delayed for too long, the time to arrive at Chichen Itza is very late. The parking lot is parked and the parking space is relatively easy to find at night. Rush to the ticket office and ask if the night show has begun? The waiter replied "it is the time." My good fortune is not too late, a ticket 240 pesos. Who knows that just after buying the ticket, the window will be closed. In other words, I was the last guest today! Holding the ticket is arranged to the back of a group of people, only to know that it is the guide, an iphone SE explainer.
It takes only 5 minutes from the entrance to the Kukulcan Pyramid in Chichen Itza. This place is smaller than expected. Before the show started, I circled around the Chichen Itza site and it was too comfortable. The night is very cool, the stars are shining, the lights on the ground are bright, and there are many stars.
Sound and light show started, full Spanish, 45 minutes. I didn't use the interpreter. I was shooting video all the time. There are not many photos. The following picture is a microcosm.

Looking ar
Looking around for information before discovering Mexico, I found that there are hundreds of Mayan ruins in the Yucatan Peninsula, but the most famous Chichen Itza (United Nations World Cultural Heritage, World New Seven Wonders) is a 3-hour drive from Cancun. Therefore, the asking price for a day trip is around RMB 500.
From ADO Station in the Cancun city of Mexico (large transportation hub of ADO Motors), there is a bus that stops only one stop, one bus a day, 08 in the morning.

There are
There are a lot of tourists in Chichen Itza. If you want to be quiet, you should try to get in as early as possible.
The scenic area opens at eight o'clock. We didn't ask for guidance in order to "grab the time". Some missteps. After all, the human landscape can't be entered by observation and delusion. The historical culture and legends behind it are actually more interesting than taking pictures. Not to mention the conflict between the two, first suggest that you must ask for a guide.
The most photographed above is the Pyramid of Kukulcan (Kukulcan is the Mayan prophecy of the feathers of the gods), which was able to climb to the top earlier, but there have been tourists who fell behind and died. After that, it will not be open, it is a pity, because there are some engravings in the top. Every spring and autumn, there will be a climax of tourists here, because only at this time can you see the magical landscape of light and shadow forming a feather snake walk. If you are interested, you can search online. The timing is wrong, we can't see this spectacle, but all the tour guides will demonstrate the wonderful echo phenomenon in the square facing the feather snake statue - standing in a position and applauding, will be at the pyramid It is very interesting to produce an echo similar to the sound of birds and beasts.
Temple of the Warriors, surrounded by numerous stone pillars. Another open space, in fact, is a stadium, or the largest stadium in ancient Central America, 166 meters long and 68 meters wide.
In fact, there are hundreds of buildings in the entire Chichen Itza site, and the rest will be waiting for you to explore slowly...

Chichen It
Chichen Itza is the ancient Mayan city site located in the middle east of Yucatan, Mexico. It is 3 kilometers long from north to south, 2 kilometers wide from east to west, and has hundreds of buildings. It is the site of ancient Mayan culture and Toltec culture. Qiqin means wellhead, and natural wells are the foundation of building a city. The existing road divides it into two halves. The south side of the old Chichen Itza was built in the 7th to the 10th centuries. It has the characteristics of Mayan culture. There are pyramid temples, pillar halls, stadiums, markets and astronomical observatories. The stone carvings are mainly decorated; the north side of the new Chichen Itza is Grey buildings with Toltec culture features, Kukulcan Pyramid, Warriors Temple, etc., with simple lines and feathers and serpents. Most of the Mexican pyramids discovered by
are altars for the ancient Indian tribes to worship the gods, not the tombs. However, Palenques pyramid is an exception.
Chichen Itza also has a lot of tiankeng, which can be visited with the pyramid. Before the Mayan royal family would relax in the pool and hold a ritual ceremony, now everyone in the tiankeng can swim and dive in the crystal clear water.
PS: You can buy a bus ticket from Chichen Itza from Cancun Bus Station. It is recommended to buy it together. Tickets often have different floats. It is recommended that the station display be used.
