Dalyan is one of my favorite places to go in Mugla province. It’s a charming town on Turkey's Aegean coast. I love it for its very slow and quiet ambience. It’s a laid-back town which is living its slow life near the river by observing the tombs of the ancient Lycian city called Caunos. Things to do are: 1) take a boat to the beautiful Istuzu beach which stretches at the end of the Dalyan River. The water is crystal clear and you can swim there. Istuzu is one of the most important breeding areas for Caretta-Caretta turtles. 2) rent a bike and ride around to check the lush vegetation and breathtaking landscapes of the area; 3) in the evening walk along the Dalyan river and see the ancient rock tombs embedded in the rock facing the town; 4) another highlight of Dalyan is the relaxing thermal bath and mud bath in Sultaniye; 5) I got there by bus from Bodrum.
