Malaga | Museo de Málaga
#September2025
The Museo de Málaga, located in southern Spain, is a treasure trove combining archaeology and fine arts. The moment you step inside this historic building, you're immediately struck by its unique modernity and architectural aesthetic.
The exhibits range from prehistoric times to the end of Moorish rule, and the diverse artworks are a feast for the eyes of art lovers. Even better, admission is very affordable, and EU citizens can even enter for free. Just remember to bring your ID!
The museum's circulation is very user-friendly. Despite its age, it has an elevator and restrooms, making it very convenient. One of my favorite experiences was relaxing on the second-floor outdoor balcony, which overlooks the interior terrace. The view is so stunning that you won't want to leave.
The staff were incredibly friendly and made the entire visit truly enjoyable. I enjoyed pausing to peruse each exhibit, and before I knew it, I spent a full three hours! Highly recommended for families or solo travelers.
The museum is spacious, with a beautiful central garden. I particularly enjoyed the art exhibits on the first floor, which showcase the development of Spanish art and provide a deeper understanding of local art.
The archaeology exhibit on the second floor is equally fascinating. Besides covering the region's history and the impact of its inhabitants, I also found archaeological finds from the botanical gardens.
These artifacts come from an influential family, and seeing their original collection firsthand was truly captivating.
