New Chitose Airport in Hokkaido is full of fun activities! Inside the airport, you can enjoy freshly made potato snacks called 'Poteriko', and there's a ramen street where you can try various kinds of ramen! This time, I visited a ramen shop called 'Ebisoba Ichigen'! You can also enjoy Royce's chocolate chips, and at Starbucks, you can try flavors exclusive to New Chitose Airport. There are plenty of places to eat at the airport! There's also a Crayon Shin-chan shop where I tried my luck with a gacha machine before heading home!

A 9-meter tall Christmas tree has appeared in the Center Plaza on the 2nd floor, near the domestic terminal and shopping area. The decorations, inspired by the latest Disney movie, are primarily blue and sparkle beautifully. Not only the tree but also many of the souvenir packages are adorably wrapped, giving a sense of winter travel and the Christmas season. Ichigen also has an overseas branch in Taipei. My first taste was at the Ramen Dojo on the third floor of New Chitose Airport. It was the first ramen shop with a line, but the queue moved quickly. While waiting, the staff handed out menus so you could order in line. Once seated, the piping hot shrimp ramen was served promptly, showcasing their efficiency. Despite being made from sweet shrimp, the broth can be customized: pure shrimp, more shrimp with less pork, or more pork with less shrimp. There are also three flavor options: miso, salt, and soy sauce. The noodles come in two thicknesses, and additional side dishes like Ichigen gyoza and rice balls are available, making for a satisfying meal. Given its rich and intense flavor, the quality of shrimp ramen is consistent across all locations, so there's no need to worry about a bad experience. In the Shikotsu-Toya National Park of Hokkaido, compared to the bustling Lake Toya, the less crowded Shikotsu Lake offers a more serene and elegant atmosphere. The iconic big red mountain line railway bridge, reflecting on the clear lake waters, is enchanting both at dawn and dusk. Mizunouta, a five-star onsen resort by the Tsuruga Group, is located on the greenery next to the visitor center, with cherry trees planted on the lawns. From the dining area's floor-to-ceiling windows, the view of pink cherry blossoms against the greenery is stunning. Not far from Mizunouta is the even more luxurious Tsuruga Villa, Bettei Umi. This stay was in a Japanese-Western style room with an open-air onsen bath in its own small courtyard, which was quite refreshing! The room, including breakfast and dinner for two, costs about 15,000 New Taiwan Dollars, with a space of about 60-65 square meters. The same room type without the onsen bath is 1,000 less. Is there even a choice to be made? Dinner is semi-buffet style; after ordering the main course, you can enjoy a rich buffet bar. Hokkaido is certainly not short of seafood!
