Antwerp isn’t a tourism-heavy city to visit, because there aren’t as many museums/attraction sites to go here.
HOWEVER, this train station itself is enough worth a stop (if one full trip), especially if you’re travelling to Netherlands/Belgium, since it’s less than an hour bus trip from Rotterdam or Brussels.

One of the most beautiful railway stations in the world
#Travel by train
Antwerp Central Station or the central station (Middenstatie) of Antwerp is one of 36 train stations selected by Condé Nast Traveler magazine as the most beautiful train stations in the world.
This station opened in 1905. The main structure consists of 2 parts: the platform part which is a glass house mixed with wrought iron work with a curved roof, designed by Clément Van Bogaert, and the station part which is a stone building designed by Louis Delacenserie. It is a combination of many styles of art, including the high dome in front that was inspired by the Pantheon in Rome. The interior decoration is both beautiful with graceful carved details and looks grand and magnificent. It is really worth seeing.
Inside the station, there are many shops and restaurants. Stop by to eat and shop before traveling. In addition to taking pictures of the station, another popular photo spot is the Antwerp Hand statue, which comes from a local legend that there was once a giant named Druoon Antigoon who collected tolls from ships sailing through the Scheldt River. If anyone did not pay, their hand would be cut off. This statue is located on the 2nd floor platform, right in front of the entrance to the station. You can stop by to take a picture as soon as you get off the train.
Currently, this station is considered the main station in this region, with trains connecting to major cities such as Brussels, Amsterdam, and Paris. If you travel by train, you should definitely stop by.
