2025 Caye Caulker Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in May)

If you do Belize you inevitably have to decide between staying in ambergris caye or caye caulker. The two are connected by a ferry of some 30-45 minutes. Caye caulker is the much slower one, more relaxed but tends to attract more the backpacker kind. but if you want to join day trips including the one’s snorkelling in hol chan or shark alley you will probably find it more convenient staying in San Pedro which tends to be the assembly point. San Pedro also has more integrated resorts suited for family. That said caye caulker has a few specific experiences worth going to apart from just the Lazy Lizard Club. On the western side of Caye caulker island is a beach where stingrays hang out. These are very docile creatures that have become quite acquainted with human presence and you can get in close touch with them. Just be mindful of their tails. Right next to the stingray beach is a little area zoned off to raise seahorses. And further down is an area where big fish known as tarpons they hang out you can feed them by hand. So there’s certain benefits to staying at Caye caulker even though it’s normally the less popular choice.

If you take a direct boat for about 2 hours, you will enter Mexico from Chetumal, Mexico. #June Travel Support Fund Event If there is a lazy lizard in the south of Caicoukee Island, there is a koko king in the north. It is a system where you pay an entrance fee and take a boat to enter. I remember that the entrance fee was not cheap, but since it can be used as a deposit on the island, I ordered fried calamari and a Belizean beer called Landshark. There is usually not much to do on the island, so people go on tours or go to restaurants or bars when it is hot. At the very end of the island is a place called the split, where the island was divided in two by Hurricane Hattie in 1961, and the hot place of this island, Lazy Lizard, is located here. I wondered where the people on the island were, but when I arrived there, all my questions were answered because everyone was gathered together swimming, eating, and drinking. Belize is a place where you can enjoy lobster at a low price because it is abundant!! During my 4-day stay on Caye Caulker Island in Belize, the most memorable food was the lobster and jerk chicken that I saw grilling on the street. It couldn't be bad because it was grilled directly over charcoal, and it tasted even better when I ate it while looking at the ocean.
