Cascais is
Cascais is the largest waterfront resort near Portugal, the itinerary revolving around the laid-back rhythm of small towns and stunning coastlines. This time I stayed at the Cascais Sheraton Resort Hotel for a few days and sincerely think this hotel is perfect for those of you who want to take a break from the world and enjoy a high-quality vacation feeling.
The hotel is very conveniently located, only about half an hour by car from Lisbon city; whether you are driving or taking public transportation, it is easy to reach, the hotel also offers free parking, which really helps. The hotel is situated in a tranquil residential area, and you can get a glimpse of the Atlantic coast when you walk out. Every morning when you wake up and pull the curtains, you will see the sea, which calls for a cheerful mood.
In terms of facilities, the hotel has a swimming pool, a wide garden, you can chill slowly under the surrounding greenery; if you like sports, you can participate in garden golf activities, or the hotel has many places to jog and walk. The rooms are of super high quality, especially the suites, clean and tidy, and fully equipped with kitchen facilities, perfect for a group of friends or a family to cook and relax.
The hotel I appreciate the most is the service details: the front desk took the initiative to give me an HDMI cable, convenient to even Netflix watching dramas; the staff attitude is particularly friendly, will take the initiative to ask me if I need anything, really feel like home. There are plenty of options for breakfast, which are basically quite of a standard, and if you are particularly demanding about your meals you can think ahead of time for a dinner outing to try a nearby seafood restaurant, Cascais Seafood is very famous.
The surroundings are actually quite convenient, less than ten minutes to downtown shops, restaurants or nearby beaches, and consider renting a bike for a coastal ride and taking pictures. For an in-depth tour, take a day trip to the neighboring city of Sintra to see the royal palaces and castles.
Real stay experience: Sheraton Cascade Resort is great for those who emphasize quiet and high-quality vacations. The nights are especially quiet, and you can fall asleep to the sound of the sea, walk in the garden after breakfast, and attentively enjoy the autonomous rhythm of your vacation.
Booking tip: During peak season (May-September), it is recommended to book long in advance, choosing a suite with kitchen facilities suitable for extended stays or family groups. Hotels occasionally have early bird deals. Free parking option is a must-have for self-driving.
City tip: The pace of life in Cascais is slow. Walking by the sea at night is more sensational.
