The Duomo di Bressanone, also known as Brixner Dom, is the largest church in Bressanone, also known as Brixen, in northern Italy. It is also considered the most important church in the southern Tyrol region. The church was built in the early 12th century in the Romanesque Lombard style with a pair of tall bell towers. It was later expanded in Baroque and Gothic styles.
The interior of the church is decorated with exquisite marble sculptures and paintings. It is very impressive. The most outstanding feature is the large ceiling painting covering 200 square meters by the Tyrolean painter Paul Troger. The altar, which is considered the most beautiful in Tyrol, is by Theodor Benedetti. There is also the largest organ in the region.
