Head out for day trip from Vienna, Austria to Bratislava Slovakia on Saturday by taking Flixbus transport bus which takes estimate 1 hour to arrive destination. Let’s start off breakfast at the Old Market Hall for local food, the market sold local produces as well as Eastern Europe products,interesting to explore for an hour. There are seats at second level for you to settle your purchased breakfast bought at the market, overlooking at the bustling crowd in the market.
Next proceed to Primacial Palace which exhibited gallery of Hungarian rulers’s pictures, get the audio at your languages to have more understanding about each pictures and furniture with their diverse history.
If you like street art, you may find artworks at Rajská road while strolling. After that head towards The Blue Church - Church of St. Elizabeth, covered with unique blue color tiles which made it special. Church is allowed to enter within the restricted opening hours for access to the interior of the church with free entrance.
Let’s take scroll to old town, you may pass by a bronze handyman peeking out from a canal in the middle of street which called the rubberneck(Čumil) for photo taking session. The myth saying stroke the button on Chumil’s cap for luck, give it a try. Along the street, there is Ganymede's Fountain which it depicts figures from ancient mythology. Head over to resturant, Petite Creperie - Pouličné palacinky located at little hillside for lunch. They have lunch set meals recommended of your preference, the staffs are friendly and approachable.
Walked up the hill slope for Bratislava Castle which exhibits museum collections from the Middle Ages up to the present. Stroll their Baroque garden to enjoy the photographs of status and fountain. The castle has a great overview of the Bratislava city. Upon walking downwards back to the town, head across the bridge towards Medieval City Walls. Historical information can be found at the city walls while you stroll about the area.
You may visit St. Martin's Cathedral before 6pm,which is nearby the city wall area, it is the largest and oldest church in Bratislava.
For dinner, you may go to Cafe Verne and have Slovak traditional food and beer to end the day before head back to Vienna. #travel #myitinerary #localfood
