Cadiz is a gem 🇪🇸
#summerdestinations
Spending a day in Cádiz was like stepping into a charming, sun-soaked postcard. Located on Spain’s southern coast, this historic city offers a rich blend of culture and seaside beauty. My day started with a visit to the Cádiz Cathedral, where the stunning baroque architecture and panoramic views from the bell tower were absolutely worth the €6 entrance fee. The nearby Plaza de San Juan de Dios was bustling with local life and great for a quick coffee and pastry ☕️🥐.
Strolling through the old town, I admired the colorful, narrow streets and quaint shops. For lunch, I enjoyed fresh seafood at one of the many local eateries—try the fried fish, it’s a local specialty 🐟. In the afternoon, I wandered along La Caleta Beach, a lovely spot to relax and watch the sunset. The beach was peaceful, and the warm golden sand was perfect for lounging.
Cádiz is also home to some fantastic museums. The Museo de Cádiz, with its fascinating exhibits on local history and art, was a highlight, and entry was free on Sundays 🎨. The vibrant markets and the charming local shops around Mercado Central de Abastos were ideal for picking up souvenirs.
This city has a laid-back vibe with plenty to explore, from its historic landmarks to its beautiful beaches. Cádiz offers a delightful mix of relaxation and exploration—definitely a day well spent!
