Not really a fan of Wifey pastry (老婆饼 ) usually, but it is indeed a must try! It is so fragrant, chewy, the right level of softness/firmness and not too flaky.The pastries were freshly baked and heavenly tasty. Very easy trail to the cave. Entrance fee is RM1 for Malaysians. Sandals and slippers are prohibited but you can rent a pair of shoes on the spot at RM 3 per person. Remember to bring touch light or handphone as it is complete dark inside the cave. Many bats and swiftlets hanging on the top of the cave. A bit slippery and you need to wear proper shoes to allow entry into the cave. It take 30 minutes to complete the walking course. Highly recommended! #cuti²malaysia #kuchingsarawak #tripblazers

Amazing Rocks formation! It's just by the roadside along with a temple.(石王庙）Free entrance (donation to the temple maintaining it is welcomed). Can be visited along with several other tourist spots in Bau, Kuching. If you have friends come for short trip, can bring them here along the way to explore Bau attractions like wind cave, fairy cave, blue lake and Sinawan Night Market. Nice rock garden and suitable for people who enjoys looking at rocks. This place has a lot of shade amongst trees and rocks so no problem to go at noon. It is not far from kuching Town. Definitely worth visiting.

The traditional handmade kuih-muih are very popular among the locals. I love their Angku-kuih which is made of red bean and the baked pulut (rice in bamboo). Also we have the signature Malay Satay that goes well with its rice and special gravy. Not only that, the special dish that is only found in Sarawak is the midin (a type of fern which are editable vegetable).

The town is always decorated with beautiful lanterns, Chinese New Year decorations during the month of February. Entering the town is like going back to the old time where our grandparents used to live on old wooden buildings. There is a beautiful GuanYingNiangNiang temple right next to the town for the Buddhist devotees residing at this very special town.

The old town comes alive every Friday, Saturday and Sunday where lots local foods and titbits are waiting to fill your tummy. The Chinese New Year decoration is amazing in the month of Feb where you can see the red tanglungs and colourful umbrella illuminating the whole street and the traditional old buildings. Not only that, the red dragon (made of tanglungs) stretch long across 100metre is the main character in the town. Totally recommended.

#myhiddengems This cave needs more effort compared to Wind caves. There are many stairs and lots of climbings. But it is worth the effort as the view in the cave is very beautiful. Taking another route through the darker inner trail led to a small opening to another side of the cave or mountain. It seemed to have less bats compared to Wind cave but it is much bigger. A day in Bau, Kuching (Sarawak, Malaysia) is really enjoyable if you are natural lover. A few caves (famous with Wind Cave and Fairy Cave), Blue Lake, Paku Rock Maze Garden (砂南坡石迷公园) to go in 1 day. Wind Cave is dark and full of bats with a good walkway. if you are adventurous, you cannot miss Fairy Cave (as per 1st few photos). We went to both caves and Fairy Cave is hard for us. We were choosing the shortest pathway as other paths are too hard for us as we are fear of height. Please enjoy God's Creation. Away from electronic product/phone/works/worry/anxiety, be prepared the healing by our natural mother. #bausarawak

Great local food. Open around 4-5pm. Better go earlier for more parking slot. Artistic art painting on wall. Heritage old shop house. Many local food. There is a river behind those shop. A famous Guan Yin temple beside the market as well. Worth for visit. Sometimes have live band at night. Considered acceptable price for a tourist spot. Around 20mins from airport.

#malaysiatrip Well maintained bat cave with thousands of bats and other birds. The site was quiet with not a lot of tourists. The paths inside the cave are safe but completely dark. Remember to bring a flashlight or rent one for RM 3 at the ticket office. The best part was listening to the sound of all the bats (harmless) around you. Spent one hour in total. Took a taxi from Bau Market to here. However, going back was more troublesome. May have to walk a while until a taxi is available.

#malaysiatrip Frankly, I can see that the owners and the staff of this Borneo Happy Farm tries to ensure the knowledge of the flora and fauna is displayed in this Farm. Amazingly, there is information on insects, birds, reptiles, flowers, fruits, fishes and so many more about plants, trees, etc etc being incorporated on its displays. There is also information about Borneo and its history which I couldn't cover as it was indiscreetly set up at the Datuk's House outside the canteen, it could be easily missed. But since it rained heavily and we came later than expected after making a wrong turn, it was also almost the last ride for the shuttle bus too. Staff at all locations are very friendly and well trained. The shuttle bus drivers are very kind and helpful, bringing up and down wheelchair, ensuring elders have ladder to climb up, and very patient. The Guinea Wonderland has many well trained guinea pigs doing their rounds, really fun for even adults, and I must also say young children too. It was good that it is also wheelchair thoughtful, but there seemed to be only 2 for rental by deposit only of 50RM, refunded upon return. Four of us seniors enjoyed much, and I would like to return to know and learn more of the collections of flora and fauna. By the way, the canteen also has information of the tribes in Sarawak and some interesting collections of drums and musical instruments.
