Like a work of art, Barcelona’s century-old dessert shop: Pastisseria Escriba
"Pastisseria Escriba" is a century-old pastry shop in Barcelona. It was founded in 1906 and is located near the popular San Jose Market. The most representative red lip cake, Llavi, has bright jelly-like red lips. Cut it open with a knife and you will find passion fruit fillings, sour jam and sweet cream inside. It has a wonderful taste!
The architectural appearance of the old store has a sense of age. The multiple arched windows and colorful mosaic tiles also add a lot of fashion. The chocolate and cake cabinets in the store are displayed like statues of art, and they are beautiful inside and out.
Pastisseria Escriba's desserts are of great artistic value, with exquisite shapes and details. They may not be the most delicious cakes, but they are definitely the most beautiful! And in some large-scale festivals, special desserts with strong themes or popular elements will be launched, such as tall shoes, macaron Christmas trees, vitamin C... etc.
But the price is naturally very expensive. Cakes such as Big Red Lips cost 7.5 euros! Even so, the old store has an excellent location, and the small space is always crowded. If you want to find a seat inside, you must be early.
