Noting that this is a tourist area, you'll have better food outside of this shopping stretch. Embarking from the Ito region and culminating in Tokyo, this journey came at a considerable cost. Each passenger was treated to an individual seat, designed for maximum comfort and flexibility. The seats could be rotated to enjoy the scenic views or engage in face-to-face conversations. Ample legroom and onboard amenities elevated the entire travel experience. While the seats exhibited traces of previous occupants, they were generally clean. Passengers could charge their devices or recline their seats flat for a nap. Despite the brevity of our time on the train, a visit to the dining area was a must. Fortuitously securing a window seat without a lengthy queue, we explored the somewhat limited menu. Opting for the braised beef cheeks, I ventured into a world of savory tenderness, while my date, in a spirit of culinary adventure, chose the sardine pasta. The beef dish proved a delight, perfectly seasoned and tender. The pasta, however, carried a unique flavor profile that my date valiantly embraced. To maintain harmony, I eventually acquiesced to sharing my dish to ensure a pleasant journey without any lingering culinary disputes. The staff, despite the brisk pace of the environment, exhibited professionalism and warmth. They also have waffles and thick toasts in the menu. I've come here twice and it taste as good as ever! My fav is those with cheesecakes. I visited a flower #themepark located about a 15-minute bus ride from Atami Station. The park is on the slope of a mountain, and as soon as you enter you can board a free bus that will take you to the top. From there, you can enjoy the flowers as you go down. At the beginning, there is a stylish cafe designed by Kengo Kuma and a photogenic swing, so you might be wondering whether to relax there from the beginning or to look at the flowers to a certain extent and then go back up the hill. Heiwa Street is the famous shopping district of Atami City. Since Atami City is famous for its Seafoods, Heiwa Street definitely showcases a huge number of Seafood Restaurants, snacks stores, delicacy stores and the likes. Many stores sell dried fishes, fresh fishes, and of course lobsters and shells. There are also many noodle stores for Soba and Ramen. Japanese sweets for Omiyage can also be seen in a lot of stores around. A person who wants to see some nature to escape their busy cities should visit Akao Herb and Rose Garden. If you are in Shizuoka, Atami City will surely appear in your radar. After all, Atami City is a popular city during Summer because of its beaches. However, once a person is in Atami City, you will only hear about their famous Onsen 温泉 (Hotsprings). Unlike all the other castles that I’ve been to before, Atami Castle doesn’t really have a huge gallery. It only houses many miniatures and paintings of castles all around Japan, some traditional artifacts, and some old paintings of ancient Japan’s porn. *laughs* However, those are not the things you would like to experience in Atami Castle. The Hiramatsu Atami is one of the top three hotels in Atami, the other two being Uminohana (I don't like the color scheme) and Fufu (I don't like the modern style). This hotel definitely has the best food of all the hotels I stayed at in Japan. The hotel specializes in Japanese-French fusion cuisine, which attracts many guests, and the hotel does a great job. I'll introduce the hotel's restaurant in the next post. The hotel service is very warm. Before you even get out of the car, a staff member will run out to greet you. You'll be taken to the restaurant for a welcome drink and dessert, which is a Japanese pudding and tastes good. Then you can check in at your leisure and enjoy the vacation vibe. Although the room is not very big, the layout is very reasonable, and the decoration style is a mix of Western and Japanese styles, which I like very much. I have to mention the pajamas, which are very comfortable and cute, and each person gets two sets. Dinner is served in the check-in area and is Japanese-French fusion cuisine. The food is really well fused and delicious. There is also a sommelier who speaks fluent English, which is a plus. Another highlight of the hotel is the fireworks festival. After dinner, the hotel will arrange a car to take you to the castle on the mountain to watch the fireworks. There are fewer people than on the beach, so the experience is better. The hotel has two rooms as restaurants, and breakfast is served in the other room. The eggs benedict at breakfast is good. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel. It's perfect for a one-night getaway for couples.
