XIV Yugawara Rikyu is a members-only hotel that opened in 2017. In our spacious room, we started off by toasting with the complimentary sparkling wine in the fridge. The hotel's selling point is its four open-air hot spring baths that make use of four different springs. You can enjoy a variety of baths in the large public bath, but you can also enjoy a hot spring bath in your room, which was better than we expected, so we spent most of our time in our room. A nice touch was that the large public bath also had a sauna in the women's bath. For breakfast, we chose a Japanese restaurant. It was neither good nor bad, but we could tell they had put in a lot of effort. I had a great experience on the Hakone Sightseeing Cruise. The views of Lake Ashi and Mount Fuji were breathtaking, and the cruise itself was very relaxing. The ship was clean and well-maintained, and the staff were polite and helpful. I enjoyed the option to sit inside or outside, depending on the weather. The only downside was that the commentary on board was limited, so it would have been nice to have more information about the sights we were passing. Overall, it’s a wonderful way to experience the beauty of Hakone, especially on a clear day. Would definitely recommend this cruise for anyone visiting Hakone!

🎋This is a secluded hot spring hotel hidden in the forest. Everywhere is clean and tidy, full of traditional Japanese charm. Please note that this hot spring hotel does not accommodate children. 🎋The room is an [empty] corner room on the top floor, room 405, very spacious and clean. All drinks and snacks in the refrigerator are free. Also, I liked that there was no unnecessary stuff in the room. 🍳The kaiseki dinner and breakfast were delicious. I chose Japanese food for breakfast, which was delicious and had a lot of variety. The stewed wagyu beef and vegetables was luxurious and delicious. It is really delicious when paired with freshly cooked rice. The Western breakfast includes bread, fried eggs, butter and jam, which is also very exquisite and delicious. 🎋Most of the hotel staff are young, and I was deeply impressed by their attentiveness and cooperation. Introducing Owakudani, a recommended tourist spot in Kanagawa Prefecture! This time, for the second time, I took the ropeway up to the top of the mountain with the valley. The mountain collapsed due to a steam explosion about 3,000 years ago, and smoke rises from all over the mountainside, creating an otherworldly view. The curves of the mountainside and the contrast of red and yellow discolored in places by volcanic gases make this a place worth seeing no matter where you look.
