If you are at Almada, Portugal, I would strongly recommend you to take the Panoramic Elevator of Boca do Vento during the evening to enjoy the sunset, panoramic and stunning view of the Duoro River and city center. The elevator allow you to enjoy the surrounding scenery as you ascending or descending because of the glass wall of the elevator. This is friendly to those with mobility challenges to enjoy panoramic views without steep stairs. You also can enjoy the sunset view at the bottom of the elevator, there are benches for you to sit. Locals like to picnic there while enjoying sunset.

Dine By The Sea!
Ponto Final is really a different experience altogether! The place is definitely not easily accessible but you can make it on foot! It is right down by the sea near Lisbon. Take a Bolt to get you there and there is a lift that will get you down to the restaurant. We are here because it was featured in Somebody Feed Phil, and we were so excited because this place do not have ANY BARRIER! SO if you accidentally slipped! You will fall right into the sea! The seafood is fresh and succulent, try the Baccaulau if you have not, it is cured cod fish with potatoes and chick peas. Different places have different version of it. This was definitely the highlight of our trip here at Portugal! Give it a try if you are there!
Address - Ponto Final, Portugal , Almada
Ambiance/Facilities - By the sea with perfect view of Lisbon.

Jesus overlooking the city of Lisbon
#celebratewithtrip
The 1950s Sanctuary of Christ the King is a Catholic monument and shrine dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ overlooking the city of Lisbon, situated in Almada. The statue was inspired by the Christ of Redeemer statue of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The monument was erected on an isolated clifftop 133 meters above sea level. It consists of a trapezoidal pedestal of 82 meters height, formed by four arches and a platform, supporting the 28 meters image of Christ.
The journey by public transport is not difficult, a scenic ferry ride from Cais do Sodre to Cacilhas ferry terminal, and then take the bus 3001 to the monument, the bus station is just beside the ferry terminal.
For visitors, the main draw is the magnificent panoramic view over Lisbon and the Ponte 25 de Abril. €6 is the entrance fee to the viewing platform on the top by lift.

I once saw this saying: "If God can save Portugal from war, build a statue on the other side of Lisbon that shows the Sacred Heart of Jesus." I don't know if this statue of the Sacred Heart is copied from Lisbon. Its still Rios plagiarism of the sovereign state. In short, its still worth a visit.
The Great Jesus is actually located in the Almaida area on the other side of the Belm area, and its tall figure has long been one of the landmarks of the city of Lisbon.
The statue of Jesus is 110 meters high. The statue is a viewing platform that can be reached by elevator (5). There is a small prayer room on the ground floor of the base, and a direct elevator to the top view platform.
Here you can see the Tejo River and the opposite Lisbon cityscape, as well as the famous April 25th Bridge. The bridge is very similar in shape to the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, USA, and is said to have been built by the same company. When the bridge was built, it was the fifth largest suspension bridge in the world at that time.

The Big Jesus in Lisbon is 110 meters high and is situated on the green hill at the end of the bridge on April 25. This statue of Jesus is exactly the same as the statue of Jesus in Rio, Brazil. It is whether Lisbon copied plagiarism or whether Rio copied the sovereign state, it would be confusing, but it is indeed worth a visit. The picture in the church below Jesus tells the history of its architecture, and the stories of the devout women who thank God for blessing them who survived World War II. Take the elevator to the observation deck, where you can enjoy the beautiful view of the opposite city of Lisbon and the magnificent river view of the Tejo River. In addition, the church provides a variety of services for the congregation, including confession and baptism. The most important thing to mention is the wedding. Intentional visitors can arrange a special wedding on the trip to give the bride a surprise.

Ferry ride that you should not miss
#voyagevibes
You should not miss the ferry ride from Cacihas to Cais do Sodré as the ferry ride offers beautiful views of Lisbon's skyline and the Tagus River. The ferry route from Cacilhas to Cais do Sodré connects the south bank of the Tagus River with central Lisbon in Portugal. It's a convenient and scenic way to travel between the two points.

Spent a day exploring Belém in Lisbon, and it was absolutely packed with history and culture! 🏰 First stop was the iconic Jerónimos Monastery. The entrance fee was €10, but it was worth every cent – the intricate Manueline architecture and the serene cloisters were just stunning. Right next to it is the famous Pastéis de Belém bakery, where I had to try the legendary custard tarts. 🥮 There was a line, but trust me, it’s worth the wait!
Afterwards, I walked down to the Belém Tower, a 16th-century fortress on the river. The entrance fee was €6, and climbing to the top gave me an amazing view over the Tagus River 🌊. The nearby Monument to the Discoveries is also a must-see, with its impressive carvings celebrating Portugal's Age of Exploration. Belém is perfect for a day trip if you're into history, architecture, and of course, delicious food. Every corner of this place feels like a step back in time. #trip #Belém #Lisbon #Portugal #History #TravelDiaries

Sanctuary of Christ the King - Lisbon 🇵🇹
Well worth the journey out of the city. The Sanctuary of Christ the King was a real take a step back moment. I was in awe of the size of it and the outlook it had over the wonderful city of Lisbon was astonishing.
This statue in Lisbon was inspired by the statue of similar meaning in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The project was inaugurated in 1959 to express gratitude because the Portuguese were spared direct destructive effects of World War II.

In Lisbon, every street tells a story. 🏘️ From the colorful houses that line the hillsides to the iconic bridges that span the Tagus River, this city is a treasure trove of beauty and history. 🌉
Hop on one of Lisbon's iconic yellow trams and wind your way through the narrow streets of the city. 🚃 The vintage trams offer a unique and nostalgic way to see the sights and are a must-do experience for any visitor.
And let's not forget about the bridges! Lisbon is home to some of the most impressive bridges in Europe, including the 25 de Abril Bridge, which bears a striking resemblance to the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. 🌉
Whether you're wandering through the historic neighborhoods of Alfama and Bairro Alto, enjoying a delicious "pastel de nata" in one of the city's many cafes, or simply soaking up the atmosphere along the riverfront, Lisbon is a city that will capture your heart and leave you longing to return. ❤️ #CityofCharm #PortugalTravel"

🇵🇹 Sanctuary of the Christ of King ✝️
The Sanctuary of Christ the King is a Catholic monument and shrine located in Almada, the southern bank of Tagus River in Lisbon. The Catholic statue was inspired by the Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The monument was built after World War II and inaugurated in 1959.
This is probably the best place in Lisbon which offers stunning views of the 25 April Bridge which connects the city of Lisbon and Almada. The entrance ticket costs 8€ and allows you to take the lift to the top floor. From there you still have to climb a few flights of stairs to reach the observation deck where the statue of Jesus Christ is built. The viewpoint at the bottom of the monument also offers great views and walking on the ground surrounding the monument is completely free.

Other Tejo Side (Almada) is worth a visit
if you have the time, definitely take the ferry from Cais the Sodre to Cacilhas (ferry normally every 20minutes) and take a walk through Almada. There you can also see some graffitis, eat amazing seafood at the river (e.g. at Ponto Final) or walk to the Christo Rei Statue and enjoy the beautiful view over the river with the Ponte 25 de Abril Bridge and Lissbon!!!
